While Alexandria Ocasio-Cortex thinks she has the youth on her side and that all of them can’t wait to be dyed-in-the-wool socialists, there are certain issues where today’s youth are most definitely not in lockstep with the Left. This is especially true for abortion.

Today’s Youth on Abortion: The Sonogram Generation

In fact, the “sonogram generation” is showing signs of disdain and disgust at the Far Left’s (and Democrat leadership) agenda of the coldest and most brutal abortion issue to date: so-called 4th term abortions. In other words, infanticide of children who survived an abortion. This generation grew up with Mom bringing home sonograms of baby brother or sister.  And even though their first vision of their little sibling was in black and white and somewhat fuzzy, they identified that early, early pregnancy as a live baby.  Something to be excited about, not kill.

So this week’s show we have some good news.

First up, we talk with the President of Students for Life, Kristan Hawkins, who talked to us as she waited outside the White House for President Trump’s signing ceremony of an Executive Order to protect free speech on campuses. Kristan was in attendance because one of her chapter presidents was to present what her experience has been on campus as a young conservative.  We discussed with Kristan about the new pro-life movie Unplanned, in theaters starting March 29th.  It’s a story about a friend of Kristan’s who was a Planned Parenthood counselor until the day she actually witnessed the horror of an abortion—a baby who had survived the abortion and was fighting for its life.

There is also some terrific news on the legal front. We discuss the new decisions in the appellate courts that now allow Ohio and Texas to defund Planned Parenthood and what these decisions mean for the pro-life movement. And how these precedents will open the door to other states defunding Planned Parenthood.

James Hirsen: Hollywood’s take on Unplanned & the College Entrance Scandal

Next up is bestselling author, James Hirsen that gives us Hollywood’s take on Unplanned and the R rating that was given to a film without language, violence, or sexuality. A film kids now can’t go to see without their parents’ permission—and yet in many states they can get an abortion without their consent.

Hirsen also gives us the inside-Hollywood view of the college scam and how children of actors cheated their way into college. We get his thoughts (as a former attorney) on the Mueller investigation.

Hirsen: What on Earth is Going on over at Fox News?

James Hirsen has also been a contributor for Fox News. With the suspension of Judge Jeanine for having an opinion on her opinion show and the hiring of Donna Brazile, what is going on at Fox?  Don’t miss his take on what’s happening with Fox News’s swing left and why.

Unplanned – The Movie

A reminder that the movie, Unplanned opens this Friday, March 23. Since Hollywood decided to make it Rated R, so kids under 17 can’t get in, it’s a perfect opportunity to go take a whole bunch of kids with you. It will be a chance to talk about — and show them the sancitity of human life. And its irreplaceability.

I hope you will make time to go on opening weekend. Bec that’s the weekend the production studio makes most of their money.

This generation doesn’t lean toward socialism because of a few political commercials. They lean that way because of the content of shows they watch. One day, wealthy conservatives will wake up to that.

Welcome to another edition and another year of I Spy Radio — helping you to get a little more intelligence on big govt. If this is your first time joining us, a special welcome to you as we kick off a new year. We hope you’ll join us every week as we give you more intelligence in one hour than most shows do in three.

This week

The first part of a two-part series focused on natural resources. And there is some good news on that front—for once.

Speak Life 2018

But before we get to the natural resources portion, our first guest is Jeff Jimerson, founder of Oregon Life United and lead petitioner to stop taxpayer funded abortions in Oregon.  To help get the word out on this signature initiative, his organization is bringing Mike Huckabee to Oregon, January 21st and 22nd.

We talk to Jeff about whether it’s true or not that Oregon has no pro-life laws to protect the unborn. No parental notification, no limits?  And then don’t miss the information on Gov. Huckabee’s visit to Oregon at their Speak Life 2018 event—and that’s not all.  This group has some exciting plans coming up, so we’ll be having Jeff back on to give updates as plans come to fruition.

Progressive politicians are wrong if they think free abortions for all is a winning strategy. Especially for today’s youth. Polls show an overwhelming majority of today’s youth are pro-life. Why? Because they’re the sonogram generation. They grew up at a time mom came home from the doctor with sonogram pictures and say, “See? This is your baby brother or this is your baby sister. Here’s the head… Here’s her arm…” They know that’s a baby in there, not some “blob of tissue.”

Pebble Mine

Then we switch hats to focus on natural resources something environmentalists have fought against for years.  But what these extremists don’t understand is that being an environmentalist doesn’t mean we can’t touch natural resources, it’s more about how you treat the lands and the people when you do harvest resources.

The Pebble Mine. Just waiting for permit approvalWe head back to Bristol Bay, Alaska, to talk about one of the most richest mineral deposits in the world: the Pebble Mine project.  A mine that has been put on hold for years as the Obama administration refused to even allow the permitting process to begin.

Long-time listeners of I Spy will remember that Pebble Partnership was forced to sue the EPA to give them same rights as any other mining company and discovered that the EPA had been conspiring with environmental groups to stop the Pebble Mine from ever submitting a permit application.

Now with the Trump administration in place the EPA has allowed the permitting process to begin, a process that will take years to finalize.  And with a growing economy, America will need the gold, copper, and other minerals of Pebble Mine to build computers, cell phones, and other essentials that we use daily in our lives.

Winning against Environmentalists

But it’s more than just Pebble Mine. Tune in to hear how after years of shutting down and, dare we say, terrorizing industry, the extreme environmentalists are on the defensive.  It’s about time. Don’t miss to hear how the extremists are “old school” and their fear-mongering is out of touch with modern-day approaches to natural resources.

And don’t miss next week’s show as we continue our focus on natural resources: Could there be some hope for Oregon?

For pro-life Oregonians, Oregon’s governor, Kate Brown, has shown her true colors as former lobbyist for Planned Parenthood.  Through her leadership, Oregon passed an unfettered abortion law that allows for babies to be aborted up to the due date—and for any reason.  You don’t like the sex of the baby or if it’s just inconvenient, gone. To top it off, Oregon is making abortions free for women who can’t afford it—100% free, not even a dollar of co-pay.  That means pro-life taxpayers are forced to pay for abortions, including those who are not legal citizens.

But there is good news, even here in Oregon. And it’s from a surprising source: today’s youth.

Nichole Bents, NW Regional Coordinator of Students for Life
Nichole Bents, NW Regional Coordinator of Students for Life

We talk with Nichole Bentz (@RC_NicholeB), the NW Regional Director, and Kristan Hawkins, the president, both from Students for Life of America. This national organization is making terrific strides as they fight for the unborn. Tune in to find out the exciting and hopeful news, including the incredible numbers of today’s youth who are pro-life—and the reasons why they’re pro-life.

Here’s a hint: Today’s youth is the sonogram generation

This is especially encouraging at a time when we’re witnessing what is happening on the national stage and what’s coming out of Hollywood. For decades, women have been objectified, as clearly played out in the Hollywood sex scandals of abuse.  It has bred a culture of no responsibility and abortion has given them a no-consequences escape from their actions and abuse.

All babies are pro-lifeWe have a long way to go in Oregon but it has to start with small steps. The first is to stop the funding of free abortions using taxpayer dollars. Tune in to hear how you can help protect society’s most vulnerable: our unborn babies.

We start with the Oregon Regional Coordinator, Nichole Bentz (@RC_NicholeB), who describes her work on the college campuses in Oregon and tells us what she hears from students when they find out just how far this new abortion law goes.  She also tells our listeners what supports they offer and what listeners can do to support her in her ongoing work.  And be looking for those volunteer students to help support gathering petitions during the Christmas season.

Are you a pro-life college student and want to get involved? Head here to get started

Then we talk with Kristan Hawkins, Director of the national Students for Life.  She will discuss the Hollywood scandals and how they may impact a more pro woman support.

One of the most difficult and emotional pro-life challenges is when a woman becomes pregnant due to rape. Don’t miss her touching discussion on how Students for Life approaches these situations.

Exciting Pro-Life News!

Right now, volunteers in Oregon are working overtime to try and stop the taxpayer funding of this ugly new abortion law. As Students for Life head home on Christmas break, they’ll be bringing petitions with them to gather signatures to help stop the funding. Also, we’re pleased to announce that StoptheFunding.org is bringing out Mike Huckabee in late January (20th and 21st) to help with the signature gathering effort. So far, we can confirm he’ll be speaking in Portland, Salem, and Medford. Stay tuned for more details on locations and times!

The Fox News “debate” seemed to show one thing: how far the old media has fallen. The “new media” is the only media doing any real investigations. Why?

Well, that and whether you like Trump or hate Trump, it was pretty clear Fox News hates Donald Trump. So much for “fair and balanced.” But why?

Back in the 1980s and into the 1990s, news shows such as 60 Minutes and 20/20 ruled, with their top-notch investigations. But today, they and shows like them, have lost their prominence in today’s media. More and more the “mainstream” is dominated by opinion and commentary, and long gone are either analysis or investigative journalism. Instead the mainstream media is looking more like a series of tabloid features than a hallmark of investigative-journalist excellence.  Is that what the audience wants or are there other reasons that have pushed the mainstreamers into sensationalizing the news?

The New Media

the media - Megyn Kelly
Fox News’s Megyn Kelly – has the media lost its way?

We talk with John Hawkins of Right Wing News who gives us his analysis of the old media and why it has fallen prey to sensationalism.  We also discuss the betrayal of trust and the viewers’ uproar over the Fox News “debate,” and about the Trump phenomenon.

Why is it that news organizations, with millions of dollars at their disposal, are no longer doing undercover investigations like they used to? Instead, we’ve seen the rise of “citizen journalists like the Center for Medical Progress and their investigation of Planned Parenthood. Before that, it was James O’Keefe and ACORN.

The Effect of Good Investigations

Perhaps nowhere in recent memory is the impact of good journalism felt more keenly than the abortion debate, with the exposure of Planned Parenthood. We talk with Kristan Hawkins of Students for Life of America about the deep impact these Planned Parenthood investigations are having on youth, their families, and on campuses. Once again, it’s the new media that is carrying the torch. And yet the latest video was barely noticed by the mainstreamers.

There is exciting news on the front lines as Kristan Hawkins and Students for Life are engaging with today’s youth. Tune in to hear why today’s youth is, as we like to say, “The Sonogram Generation.”
