Show Summary: Timber Unity 2020 rally is Thursday, February 6 at 10 a.m. This week we give you the latest — attempts by Gov. Brown to sabotage things, what elected Dems really think about rural people, and some intellectual ammo to take with you to the rally.

Air Dates: February 1 & 2, 2020 | Angelita Sanchez & Chuck Wiese

This Week: Yes, the fight is on.  Like two bulls staring at each other from across the arena, Gov Kate and her far-left, legislative henchmen are attempting to stare down Timber Unity and the participants (or what Kate should remember are voters—you know, the people she serves). Governor Kate wants to institute a crippling carbon tax, based on fake science, to control Oregonians and Oregon businesses by taxing fuel and energy and “undesirable” industries, which will increase costs for almost anything purchased within the state.

Timber Unity: Taking the Fight to Salem

Timber Unity is not only saying NO, but is part of a rising wave of anger from more and more Oregonians. They come together this week to stand up against the extreme and unnecessary legislation. Especially as they learn more and more about what Salem Democrats like Peter Courtney really think about them and their way of life.

And don’t miss Gov. Kate Brown’s attempts to sabotage Timber Unity.

Oregonians are waking up to what’s at stake that if this carbon tax is allowed to go through and the devastation it will have on businesses and rural life.

And because of that, Oregonians are grabbing hold of the issue and Timber Unity is bringing together truckers, loggers, and farmers to push back in an exciting event being held this Thursday, February 6th.  Spokesperson for Timber Unity, Angelita Sanchez, joins us this week on I Spy Radio to give us insights into what is driving them to storm Salem’s castle. She’ll also give the latest updates on how the day will unfold with the truckers’ caravan, expected speakers, activities in the capitol, food, and time of events.

Last time she joined us, she shared what Peter Courtney said that so enflamed their anger against the cap and trade legislation. Do not miss this week when she elaborates even more on what you said. It will get your blood boiling.

Standing Up to Global Warming Alarmism

Then get a little more intelligence on what drives the anti-carbon craze of the legislators: “Climate Change.” Chuck Wiese is a meteorologist and well-known global warming debunker who knows the faux science behind the carbon tax push. You’ll come away with a better understanding of the issue and why any carbon tax is little more than a money-laundering scheme. He also reveals what a carbon tax will do to Oregon, why it’s a waste and not necessary, and why it should be a matter for voters to decide and not decided by one party at the legislature.

Oregon may have been sleepy at getting people out to vote in 2018 but Timber Unity has awakened the proverbial sleeping giant. Don’t miss this week. It will awaken your own inner giant to help you stand up to what far-left environmentalists are attempting to do to our beautiful state.

Show Summary: With Timber Unity rally coming up, a look at Oregon politics, including some devious attempts by Gov. Brown to undermine Timber Unity and weaken Republican resolve.

Original Air Dates: Jan. 25 & 26, 2020 | Jeff Kropf & Jayne Carroll

This week: a look at what’s growing in Oregon. We start with former state representative Jeff Kropf about Oregon’s hottest cash crop. Last year, tens of thousands of more acres transitioned from other crops to hemp as farmers jumped on the hemp band wagon. What were the results? Jeff, a fifth-generation Oregon farmer, gave it a go. Tune in to hear his experiences.

Oregon Politics: Undermining Timber Unity?

But of course, we can’t have Jeff on (he’s a fellow talk-radio show host on KSLM in Salem), and not talk politics. With Timber Unity coming up in less than two weeks, you’ll hear some shocking actions that Governor Kate Brown is taking to sabotage Timber Unity. And weaken senate Republicans’ resolve. Will she stop them from walking out this time?

2020. Is the Oregon Republican Party Up to the Task?

Then we talk to another talk-radio superstar, Jayne Carroll. Jayne was a radio host in Portland on KUIK and can now be heard anywhere there’s a computer or smart phone on TheJayneCarrollShow.net.

I Spy Radio show host, Mark Anderson, had a rather Stalin-like encounter with the Oregon Republican Party after asking a question on Twitter about candidate recruitment First one ORP member weighed in with the usual blame-game of why don’t you run? Then another jumped in with personal attacks. And he never did get a response from the person he’d asked the question of — unless you consider getting blocked an answer.

It’s classic organizational dysfunction. But it begs a bigger question, is the ORP up to the task in a critical election year? What can be done to improve things?

If anyone knows, it’s Jayne Carroll. She has been on all sides of Oregon politics. Commentator, strategist, party member, PCP, and campaign manager. Tune in to hear her assessment of the ORP and whether they can right the lifeboat when we need it most.

Want to Get Involved in Oregon Politics?

Plato said more than 2,300 years ago that, “”One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” Are you tired of being on the sidelines? Tired of being governed by your inferiors? Want to talk with Mark, Jeff, or Jayne? They can get you connected with the right people to get you off the sidelines and in the game. Drop us a line.

Air Dates: Jan. 18 & 19, 2020 | Andi Buerger & Karen Kataline

This Week: January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month (see White House press release) and here at I Spy Radio, we are doing our part to raise awareness of this important issue.

The thing real Americans fight for is our right to individual rights, even if we don’t always agree what that looks like.  Freedom. Freedom is a God-given right.  And as Americans, we fight for those freedoms and against those who desire to change our country. And that includes socialist mindsets working against America.

The fight for freedom is expected of every generation. Especially as the next generation experiences its own pendulum swing as inexperienced youth try their hand at the world.  Sometimes, we take the idea of freedom for granted and it’s even shocking to learn others, right here among us, have been deprived of theirs.

Tragedy of Human Trafficking

While we enjoy our freedoms and celebrate our American liberties, beneath it all, there is a sinister reality: human trafficking.  And not just from the deranged stranger who wants to snatch a soul off the street to abuse for their own evil purposes.

Sometimes, it happens by the very people they put their faith in—parents and relatives.  Parents who sell their children, or turn their back on them, as others see an opening of twisting human trafficking into a commodity and servitude. Right here in America, the Land of the Free, human trafficking is not only a reality, it’s a multi-billion dollar industry.

Thankfully, there are those fighting against this and helping the victims.

Buelah’s Place: Helping Homeless and Trafficked Teens

This week, I Spy Radio once again takes on one of the most difficult-to-discuss topics as we look at this issue and to raise awareness of it during January, which has been designated as Human Trafficking Awareness Month.

First up, we talk with Andi Buerger about her book, A Fragile Thread of Hope that discusses her rescue of four at-risk teens from life on the streets. She tells us about her powerful, personal story of lifting herself out of the life of abuse and trafficking.  An Oregonian, she talks about her life’s work to help others in trouble, including Buelah’s Place that has exciting news about helping more teens.

Recognize the signs of Human Trafficking
Recognizing key indicators of human trafficking is the first step in identifying victims and can help save a life. See the list of signs and indicators of human trafficking via the Department of Homeland Security

How Did Society get Here?

Then we talk with Karen Kataline, an MSW and talk-show host (Spouting Off, which you can catch through her website, www.karenkataline.com). We discuss her recent article, The Culture War That Threatens To Upend America that really analyzes how we got here and why the culture seems almost accepting of abuse and sex trafficking.  Karen also discusses some of the telltale signs of abuse and how to start a conversation.

This week is a fascinating conversation that you don’t want to miss. And information you need to be aware of—your awareness and question might save a life.

Nearly 9,000 cases in the U.S. were reported to the National Human Trafficking Hotline and BeFree Textline in 2017—a 13% increase from the prior year, according to the Polaris Project. But this data is incomplete, as cases are severely underreported.”
    • “Some of the biggest factors that lead vulnerable children to become vulnerable adults are poverty, homelessness, abuse at home, the foster system, and glamorization of the sex industry, what is essentially a “pipeline of vulnerability,” said Dr. Sharon Cooper, founder and CEO of Developmental and Forensic Pediatrics.”

Show Summary: Last year, Republican senators walked out. This year, Oregon’s Democrats are determined to push through a carbon tax. Timber Unity stands for what’s right It’s pretty simple—cap & trade? NO. Timber Unity? YES

Original Air Dates: Jan. 11 & 12, 2020 | Angelita Sanchez of Timber Unity & Dr. Bob Zybach

This Week: Here at I Spy, we are completely against any form of a carbon tax or a carbon cap & trade scheme.

A Carbon Tax: Wrong Thinking

Why is a carbon tax a bad idea? In the first segment of this weekend’s show, host Mark Anderson, thoroughly walks you through the problems of how and why a carbon cap & trade scheme damages an economy and how it violates normal free-market forces.

A carbon tax not only doesn’t work for what they claim it’s supposed to do, but it places an increasing financial burden on citizens. California is a prime example of what happens as its citizens and businesses flee the state. One report has shown tens of thousands of businesses fled California, directly because of California’s carbon tax, in a process known in political circles as “leakage.” Basically, leakage is “How many businesses will leave the state if we pass this bill?”

Also, don’t miss “all you need to know” about “global warming.” It’ll give you some ammunition to use in the coming fight against Oregon’s carbon tax, cap & trade bill.

Timber Unity

Government bureaucrats and far-left politicians who support cap & trade seem to believe they know better than the people they’re supposed to represent. Last year the people came together to put their foot down.

The Timber Unity rally on the capitol steps drew together people in rural areas who were tired of latte-sipping liberals looking down their noses at hicks from the country not knowing liberals are just saving the planet. (I wonder how they think the coffee they’d sipping got to their little coffee house?)

Timber Unity Rally Round 2: Timber Unity’s rally to again fight back against Oregon Democrats’ disastrous carbon tax will be on Thursday, February 6th, 2020. Tentative start time is 10:00. See below for more details, contact, info, and more.

Oregon’s Carbon Tax: New and Improved? Hardly.

Even though Salem’s Democrat legislators are trying to sell the “new and improved” carbon bill as something that would only impact people in the city (for now) it’s simply not true. Because more than 80% of all Oregonian communities have their only means of goods shipped, in or out, are only by truck.

Be sure to tune in to hear the mindset of how these politicians feel about rural areas and who they pretend to protect. What Senator President, Peter Courtney told Timber Unity rally participants right from the start will make your jaw drop.

Oh, and remember how Knute Buehler promised a carbon tax when he was running for governor of Oregon? Here he is suddenly for it now that he’s running for much more conservative CD 2

Good News for Oregon’s Forests?

Then we bring back our timber expert, Dr. Bob Zybach, who continues the conversation on the downfalls of a carbon tax and cap & trade schemes. We hear about how the law negatively impacts our forest management processes, a vital economic impact to Oregon. You’ll get a laugh over OSU’s latest scheme to save the planet. (Insert massive eye roll.)

And he discusses California’s dilemmas with its carbon cap and trade scheme (hint: it’s not working) along with the wildfire issue in Australia and the nonsense of some blaming global warming.

This week it’s all about stopping the nonsense of politicians attempting to fill their tax coffers while claiming it’s “for the environment.”

Show Summary: 2020 marks the beginning of I Spy Radio’s tenth year on the air. This week, something a little different: the producer speaks. Our 2019 year in review and a 2020 preview. Was 2019 the beginning of the end of socialism?

Original Air Dates: Jan. 4th & 5th, 2020 | Karla Davenport, I Spy Radio producer

This Week:  The end of 2019 and birth of 2020 marks the beginning of I Spy’s 10th year on air.  After a decade of airing shows that we hope have been informative and, at times, entertaining we are trying something different.  Having both Mark and me on air to discuss the issues.

So for this week’s show, we’re going to be doing a year in review AND a year in preview.

Year in Review. 2019: The rise of anti-socialism

To do that we take a look at some of the more interesting trends that took place this year, global and national in nature.  Okay, there were a ton of topics to turn to with a highly active president in office.  In fact he makes news while we’re trying to report it—which happened with this show as President Trump took on Iran.

2020 Year in Preview: Unfinished Stories from 2019

For us, this was a very fast hour to try and cover as many topics as possible and having a lot of fun while we’re doing it.  I hope you have the time to take a listen and see if we’ve discussed the issues you felt were important.  And what about the possibilities for 2020?  Listen to find out our take.

And let us know what you thought. We’d love to get your feedback on this rather unique episode of I Spy Radio.

Happy New Year everyone, and hello 2020!

FBI Destroys Itself | IG Report: Lies, Forgery and Errors in Quest to Spy on Trump

Original Air Dates: Dec. 14 & 15, 2019 | John Solomon & Scott McEwen

This Week:  Last week Adam Schiff and then later, Jerry Nadler, held committee hearings that filled with witnesses who had witnessed nothing, but were very willing to pass along gossip.  But it turns out they weren’t the only storytellers. It turns out that’s the same technique the FBI officers were willing to give to FISA judges—a load of fiction.

IG Report: FISA Warrant Based on Lies

Judges on the FISA court assumed they were receiving the highest form of intelligence. But they were misled. Purposefully. And this from the FBI, which used to be considered the premiere and most-respected law-enforcement agency in the world. But no longer.

As Inspector General Horowitz testified, we found out that FBI officers were willing to lie and even forge information to get warrants against innocent people.  Using gossip as evidence, people like Carter Page, who not only professed his innocence regarding contacts he made with Russians but had absolute evidence that he was telling the truth.

And the FBI knew it. At the time they submitted the FISA warrant application. But they kept that proof of innocence hidden, out of sight and away from the FISA judges—the very people who are supposed to safeguard our constitutional rights.  Instead, the FBI buried evidence to obtain warrants as a way to try to make then-candidate and then President Trump appear guilty or willing to “collude with the Russians”. Or both.

IG Report: FBI set off a Firestorm of Lies

And let’s not forget, the FISA warrant to spy on Trump and subsequent Crossfire Hurricane “investigation” has led directly to the Democrats desperate impeachment hoax. The FISA warrant and investigation became the “evidence” of Trump working with the Russians to steal the election. The mainstream media repeated the lies often enough (thank you, Goebbels) until people believed it.

And this lie became the narrative has become the foundation for impeachment.

Speaking of Impeachment

Make no mistake, the Democrats have tried desperately to distract from the IG Report by announcing they would be drafting articles of impeachment of President Trump. On the same day the IG report came out.

Although wasn’t that odd? The Democrats, who claimed there is overwhelming evidence to convict Trump of high crimes and misdemeanors, a man so dangerous to the country, they had no choice but to impeach—a man so dangerous that merely an hour later, they also announced they liked his USMCA trade deal and would pass it. What?

Talk about surreal.

John Solomon on IG Report: FISA High Crimes and Misdemeanors

About the only real “high crimes and misdemeanors” in Washington DC were committed by the FBI. Because they knowingly lied to the FISA court.

Award-winning journalist, John Solomon, has been doggedly following the FBI corruption and FISA abuse story, to the point that many in the mainstream “media” mocked him as a conspiracy theorist. But not any longer.

We talk to John to get his insights on both the IG report and the Horowitz testimony.  He analyzes the incredible extent that Horowitz’s investigation uncovered and where it goes from here.  He also gives us some insight into Schiff’s collection of phones such as Nunes, and even his own—and what courses of action John will be taking.

Scott McEwen: Examining IG Report through the eyes of a Lawyer

Then best-selling author, Scott McEwen, joins us. He puts on his attorney hat as we sift through how the FISA court was used, why we may not be hearing from those judges, and his reaction to the abuse of power.

Scott also has the second book from his Camp Valor series, The Trigger Mechanism, coming out in February next year but can be pre-ordered now. It might be intended for teens but, trust us, the Camp Valor series is a great read for adults too. (Have you checked out our I Spy Radio store lately? There’s a book for practically everyone on your Christmas list!)

Don’t miss this week’s show – the hour will fly by.

After Devastating IG Report, FBI and Others at a Reckoning Point

Horowitz said that his report should not make anyone feel vindicated; after this week’s show, you’ll hear how they’re not only not vindicated, but maybe some should be start planning what to take with them for a long stay in jail.

Seriously.

But bad elements at the FBI acting outside the law, lying to courts, and creating false investigations isn’t new. Check out this video from nearly two decades ago.

Original Air Dates: Dec. 7 & 8, 2019 | Dallas Jenkins & James Hirsen

This Week:  The nonsense of listening to non-witnesses who try to testify about what they didn’t hear, but were sure that what they didn’t hear was something that someone thought, continues.

We tried to take a break from that nonsense by recognizing the start of Advent—and at least we get halfway there. The first half our show, we welcome back Dallas Jenkins.

The Light Side: The Chosen

Mr. Jenkins is the director and producer for an incredible series The Chosen, the largest crowd-funded media project ever. Everyday people helped launch this incredible project to be a part of creating a series depicting Jesus and the everyday people He chose to be a part of his earthly ministry.

Download the free The Chosen app to watch all eight episodes for free! And help share it to people all around the globe. Available from iTunes or Google Play store.

We talk with Mr. Jenkins to get more insight into the series, which just launched episodes 5–8, his perceptions on the stories he chose for the series, and the new and exciting ways to watch and share it with people all around the globe. It’s a truly remarkable way to share Jesus’ message and life, right before Christmas.

The Dark Side: Impeachment

Impeachment: Democrats try to steal the presidency
Impeachment: Democrats try to steal the presidency

Then, dark side. We’d planned to talk Christmas, movies, pop-culture and a little politics with our next guest, James Hirsen. But then just hours before our interview, Nancy Pelosi took to the mic and announced that—despite Wednesday’s disastrous hearings with the highly partisan testimonies from the Democrats’ “constitutional experts”—the Democrats were lurching forward to draft articles of impeachment.

So, instead of talking Christmas we tap into James Hirsen wearing his attorney hat, and his recent articles of why the Democrats really should not want the impeachment to head to the Senate.  Mr. Hirsen walks us through his analysis of how they’re moving forward in spite of the reality of no evidence.

And don’t miss his discussion on how President Trump’s almost off-hand inquiry about Ukraine having the Crowd Strike server may have been what really set off the latest impeachment attempt and why.  Where is the server and why hasn’t it been turned over? Or destroyed like so many other pieces of hardware that had evidence on the Democrats?

Democrats in power are probably a little nervous about that.

Jerome Corsi: Impeachment and New Ukraine Revelations

Dr. Jerome Corsi successfully fought back against the Mueller probe by refusing to cooperate. The FBI had tried to get him to sign a “confession” that would have suborned perjury—just to get Trump. Yes. Our own Department of Justice wanted to break the law to try to convict Trump, who didn’t break the law.

But Corsi took a stand and said no. Now he’s fighting back and updates us on the status of his counter-suit against the FBI.

Jerome Corsi's book Coup d' EtatAnd then, in the middle of the Democrats Grand Impeachment, the news broke about indictments in Ukraine for corruption—by the Democrats, including Hunter Biden, Joe Biden, and others. Perhaps even Adam Schiff. Are the Democrats about to face justice? Finally?

Dr. Cosrsi has some books out as well. See the Links & Info section for his books as well as his solution to the border wall problem.

Burgess Owens: Retaking a Congressional Seat

Super Champion and long-time I Spy Radio guest, Burgess Owens announced that it’s time to take a stand. By running for Congress.

In 2018, a lot of Republicans had turned anti-Trump. Why? Because they believed the lies told by the Democrat-controlled media. That Trump colluded with the Russians. That Trump was an agent of the Russians. And on and on.

And because she bought the lie, Mia Love lost her Congressional seat—thereby paving the way for Speaker Nancy and her Impeachment Circus.

But as we now know (well a lot of us knew already) that the Russia-collusion narrative spun by the media was a lie. And that’s why Burgess Owens wants to take that seat. It’s time to have a congressman who wants to fight with the President and get rid of do-nothing Dems who just want to fight against the President.

If you want a Congressman who will fight for the President and for America, donate to help Burgess across the goal line. He needs your support. And you don’t even have to be in Utah. Visit Burgess4Utah.com to donate or volunteer.

Antisemitism: Never Again is Now

Show Summary: After the Holocaust, Jews and the rest of the world pledged “never again.” But a mere two generations later, Evelyn Markus had to flee the EU’s antisemitism for America—only to find antisemitism on the rise here too. What happened? And why?

Original Air Dates: Nov 16 & 17, 2019 | Dr. Evelyn Markus

This Week: A look at the rise of “acceptable hate”: antisemitism. The world seems to have forgotten the Holocaust, because right now antisemitism is surging again in Europe. And lest you think this is merely “anti-Israel”, you need to know that Leftist politicians have been spotted in marches where shouts of “Hamas! Hamas! Jews to the gas!” have filled the streets.

How is this happening? And why?

Antisemitism: Big-Government Sponsored Hate

Big government demands conformity from its subjects. And uniformity. You must be part of the group and those outside the desired conformity, are labelled dissidents, and targeted for hate. And even removal. We’ve seen it before throughout history with the Holocaust but we’re seeing it again now in places like Hong Kong.

Surprisingly, we’re also seeing it from the Left right now in the EU and even right here in the U.S. It’s not just the Left’s embrace of socialism that’s worrying, it’s the fringe elements of hate: antisemitism. While not unique to the Left, hatred of Israel and, by extension, Jews, seems to have become almost mainstream within the Far Left.

This is deeply worrisome. Especially to someone whose parents lived through the Holocaust.

Why Antisemitism Matters

Because the rise of antisemitism gives rise to hate of all sorts. The snowball effect of hate spreads and it becomes mob hate – not just the hate of individuals but of hate directed to an entire race.  The mob hate finds its way to those in power who begin to preach the politics of hate and the hatred of a race simply because of their existence.

This week, we’re pleased to welcome Dr. Evelyn Markus, an activist against antisemitism. An author and speaker, she is the hand behind Never Again is Now, a terrific film about not forgetting the lessons of the holocaust  in the face of rising antisemitism in Europe and even right here at home

Never Again is Now

"Never Again is Now" film by Dr Evelyn Markus, the troubling rise of antisemitism
“Never Again is Now” is available on Amazon Prime

Dr. Markus’ parents lived through the worst of the politics of hate. After The Netherlands were conquered, the Jews—who had been welcomed and lived a quiet, wonderful life in The Netherlands—were targeted by the Nazis.  Then, after what they thought were incidental acts of discrimination, the Jewish people realized too late that things were growing out of control.  Forced to wear yellow stars affixed to their clothes and before long, entire families were loaded into trains without knowing where they were going. And it was too late to stop it.

And, cruelly, neighbors turned on neighbors. Even worse, collaborators turned in those in hiding or who might have escaped. Neighborhoods were emptied never to see many of their once friends, ever again.

Dr. Markus’ parents survived the Nazi occupation — miraculously escaping with their entire family intact when many of their friends had only a few family members survived or were wiped out altogether.  Dr. Markus talks to us about her parents’ life, what it was like for them to go through it all, and the very real world of seeing how good people behaved when their lives were at stake.  Some who you’d think would be brave crumbled, while others who hardly appeared destined for greatness, did great things.

Antisemitism on the Rise? Again?

But Dr. Markus’ story doesn’t end there. That’s really just the beginning. Her story is about her realization that—despite the shadow of WWII and so many personal stories of loss—that antisemitism was rearing its ugly head in Europe after 9/11. Things became so bad that she left Europe, only to realize it was spreading in her newly adopted  homeland: the U.S.

Join us for a spellbinding look at the rise of hate. And what can be done, what must be done.

Why Oregon’s Health Care Lost Its Way—and Can It Recover?

Show Summary: It was only six years ago that Oregon had one of the health care systems and markets in the nation. But then Democrats “fixed it” with their zeal for universal health care. A look back—and can it be fixed?

Air Dates: Nov 9 & 10, 2019 | Lisa Lettenmaier

There’s a scene in Star Trek III when the crew of the Enterprise have stolen the ship and they’re being pursued by the Excelsior, the newest, fastest ship in the Federation fleet. The Enterprise goes to warp and the Excelsior prepares to give chase—only to have the engines grind to a halt and come to a dead stop. Scotty turns to Dr. McCoy, hands him some bolts, and says, “Here, Doctor. From one surgeon to another. The more they overhaul the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain.”

And that’s pretty much what happened to Oregon’s health care.

Oregon’s Health Care: What Happened?

What happened? In a word: Democrats. In their zeal to push Oregon into “universal health care,” also known as “single payer.” Or, more accurately, “socialized medicine.”

A Look Back at Oregon’s Health Care

This week, we’re joined by Lisa Lettenmaier, the owner and operator of Health Source Northwest. Lisa is our go-to expert for health care, especially the “unique aspects” of Oregon’s health care market, given our lurch toward socialized medicine.

It’s open enrollment time. Do you have an insurance plan? The deadline is Dec. 7th for Medicare and Dec. 15th for individuals. See HealthSourceNW.com

Oregon’s Health Care System Transformation

In 2013, then-Oregon-Governor John Kitzhaber, a huge proponent of single-payer/universal health care/socialized medicine introduced a grand plan for Oregon’s health care. It was generally known (in typical socialist lingo) as “Oregon’s health system transformation.”

Kitzhaber convinced Obama to spend billions on this new innovative health care system that was going to transform health care as we know it: improve care and lower costs. You read that correctly. We spent billions to lower costs.

It introduced regional monopolies known as “coordinated care organizations” (CCOs). This,  despite studies that repeatedly shown that ACOs (associated care organizations, as they are known in Obamacare) do not save money. And do not improve care.

Oregon’s Coordinated Care Organizations

To set up these monopolies, they introduced legislation to bypass antitrust laws, violating the free market. The Oregon Health Authority (nice name, Nazis!) became the overseer of all things health. And the bureaucracies. Multiple layers of bureaucrats between you and your doctor. All of whom end up on Oregon’s PERS. A global budget that removed the ability to track monies allocated per patient. (Because that wouldn’t ever lead to abuse, grift, and corruption.) And a never-before seen cap on Medicare and Medicaid.

Basically, CCOs violated every free-market principle that would lower costs and improve care.

And, sadly, Oregon Republicans helped pass it. Yes, Republicans. How did this happen?

Useful Idiots: Oregon’s Republicans

Basically, the transformation was sold to gullible Republicans under the guise of “saving money” and “local control.” After the fact, they were “surprised” that this turned out to be a big giant push toward socialized medicine.

In reality, it shouldn’t have surprised any of them. Why? Because on the first page, the first paragraph of the bill it clearly said, “It is the intention of the Legislative Assembly to achieve the goals of universal access.” Yes. Universal health care. Single payer. No private health care. The finest that Venezuela has to offer.

Bill language from Oregon's health care transformation

True Stories of Socialized Medicine

Here’s a reminder: no democrat running for president has ever lived under socialism. Not one.  That’s right. None of them have ever lived under universal health care. And yet Bernie and Warren and several others are pushing for both socialism and universal health care.

Know what’s funny? Have you noticed that when people in those universal health care systems run into trouble, they go to where there isn’t a universal health care system? Instead, they come here to the U.S. rather than waiting weeks or months for treatment.

Well, not everyone. Just the rich. And the politicians.

When you run into trouble in a universal health care system, you go to where there isn’t a universal health care system
