This week: Marc Thielman, superintendent of Alsea School District (the only school to stay open all through the 2020 covid lockdowns), republican candidate for Oregon governor, and chief petitioner for real school choice in, joins us to talk about why it’s so needed in Oregon

School Choice? Real School Choice? In Oregon? Wait, What…?

Yes. It’s true. Oregon just might get school choice. Thanks to on again, off again, covid lockdowns that follow whatever pops into Governor Kate Brownshirt’s head.

“Trust the science” has been one of the most persistent lies over the last two years. If you dare question the science, you’re ridiculed and labeled ‘misinformation.’ That’s not how science works. That’s not even how trust works. It is the business of science to question science. Instead, you’re told to shut up and put your mask on. Because our science says so.
– Mark Anderson

This week, we talk with Marc Thielman, who is chief petitioner on the ballot initiative to bring real school choice to Oregon. This ballot initiative would allow parents to put their children in a school of their choice. Whether that’s another public school, a charter school, home school, or a “micro school” — a modern-day version of an old-time, one-room schoolhouse.

Why Real School Choice is So Needed

Just to give people an idea of why school choice is so important, the Corvallis School District thinks math is racist. Or that teaching math is racist. Or, perhaps what they really think is people of color aren’t smart enough to get math, so they need to hold White kids back? Really? So they are dumping all kids, regardless of skill or competency, into the same class. No more advanced classes. No more slower track classes. Everyone will be forced into the same mold. Because everyone must be the same. Or at least not allowed to be different. And certainly not excel. Because that would be racist.

Imagine being a secondary school coordinator being this woke and not realizing how incredibly racist this sounds:

“I was able to walk into classes and identify whether they were a low or high track math class just based on the color of the students’ skin.”

So. What happens if a Black kid excels at math? Is it fair to hold them back and discourage them from excelling? Gosh. The problems you create when you see racism in everything. (Psst! That makes you the racist.)

How Real School Choice in Oregon would Work

Technically, parents have school choice. Sort of. The way it works now is the State “allows” parents to take their kids elsewhere to another school. But. They are punished financially by having to pay extra expenses (in addition to the taxes they already pay) for doing so. While their current school keeps all the money. That’s not real choice. (Although, it is a bit like the government saying, “Oh, we’re not forcing you to take the vaccine. But we’ll make sure you lose your job if you don’t.”) As it is, 100% of the public funds allotted to that child stays with the public school district the child is currently assigned to that child—regardless of where the child ends up.

The current system means only rich people get to have school choice. They’re the only ones who can afford the extra expenses.

The way Real School Choice works is a portion of the public funding dollars already attached to a child goes with that child wherever the child goes. This truly opens the door for parents to put their child in the school that is the best fit for their child.

Tune in to hear the rest of the details and why Real School Choice is SO important for Oregon parents right now.

Yes, Virginia, Oregon is promoting Critical Race Theory. And that’s not even the worst of it.

2021 Year in Review: Democrats’ Political Boneyard | Hope for 2022

Show Summary: Our year in review: as bad as 2021 has been, it turns out it was the year of proving the Right was right. Original Air Dates: December 11th & 12th, 2021 | Guest: State Senator Dennis Linthicum

This week: Senator Dennis Linthicum (OR SD-28) joins us for our year in review as we  look back at 2021 and take a look ahead at 2022.

A Year in Review: The Good, the Bad, and the Democrats

Last week we talked with Alek Skarlatos about the democrats’ gerrymandered congressional districts. This week we look a little deeper. Yes, the democrat gerrymandering is a problem but there is another monkey wrench they threw in the elections gears in 2021.

Actually, it’s more of a sledgehammer.

Be sure to check out the resources below for more info on China’s social credit score system democrats want to bring to the U.S. If you thought CRT was bad…

We also look ahead at 2022 and the challenges ahead. There are some great Republican candidates for governor. And, yes, there is a potential monkey wrench there too. Betsy Johnson. While she would be a far better democrat candidate than the ultra far left Tina Kotek or the so-called “moderate” carpetbagger Nicholas Kristoff, she’s running as an independent. Not a democrat.

That says a lot, doesn’t it?

Because she must not believe an independent-minded blue-dog democrat can win in Oregon. At least not get the win in the democrat primary. How will a third-party candidate impact the race? Split the votes and ensure a democrat win? Or split the democrats and let a Republican slip by?

We also look ahead to 2022. What are some of the key issues for Republicans to run on and attract both non-affiliated voters. And even democrats? Here’s a hint: we talked about one of them last week.

Original Air Dates: December 4th & 5th, 2021 | Guests: Alek Skarlatos & Donna Kreitzberg

This week: Two guests this week but a common theme: silver linings. First up is candidate for Congress, Alek Skarlatos who is running again for CD4, despite the overwhelming advantage democrats gave to democrats running there—going from a +1 Republican to a +9 democrat with the redistricting.

A ten point swing? Can you be any more obvious about your gerrymandering, democrats?

But lo and behold a ray of sunshine broke through and Alek sees some real advantages for himself and Republicans running in other districts.

Alek Skarlatos: Running for Oregon’s CD4

What’s the sunshine? In case you missed it, Peter Defazio, long, long-time incumbent, decided to step down and not run in 2022.

Wait, what now?

Yes, despite being gifted a 10 point swing in Oregon’s newly drawn CD4 (going from a -1 D deficit to a +9 D advantage), DeFazio stepped down. This was a silver platter. What on earth must those internal polls have been showing?

See old vs new the redistricting maps on 538 blog

Tune into hear other silver linings Alek sees — not only his own district but other districts in Oregon. In their greed, did Dems dilute Portland’s influence?

Real School Choice on the Ballot?

Then Donna Kreitzberg who managed to get past the first hurdle to put school choice—real school choice—on the ballot as a constitutional amendment. This is a game changer. Tune in to hear the details of why this could truly transform Oregon schools for the better.

Restore the Constitution: Eliminate the Administrative State

Restore the Constitution: Eliminate the Administrative State

Show Summary: The Constitution is supposed to guarantee our rights. But over the centuries since our founding, socialists have steadily eroded our rights and the influence of the Constitution. In fact, for much of American government, the Constitution doesn’t apply. This week, we examine the “administrative state” where normal constitutional principles (or even law) don’t apply. We also look at how we fix it—and hold people accountable.

This week: We have a dual justice system and one where the Constitution doesn’t apply: the administrative state. It is a true return to authoritarianism — the rule of the king — where the government literally holds all power and you, the citizen, have no power. Except whatever the government deems to allow you. No Constitution. No rights.

Welcome back to the 1750s.

The Administrative State

The Authoritarians by Jonathan Emord
Order The Authoritarians on Amazon

As one of America’s top constitution lawyers for the last 35 years, Jonathan Emord has seen, up close and personally, the purposeful destruction of America’s founding principles of liberty and freedom from government. The Constitution outlines the boundaries of the government. But the authoritarians have been undermining it for well over two centuries.

Be sure to catch Jonathan Emord’s previous appearances on I Spy Radio: The Authoritarians Part One and Part Two.

Our previous shows with Jonathan focused on the rise of socialism in America. Including the Southern democrats’ use of socialism/Marxist ideology to defend slavery. And we looked at the beginnings of the administrative state under FDR.

This week, we dig a little deeper into the administrative state, which is the “Bizzaro World” version of our Constitutional Republic. And how do we untangle it? The answer may be simpler than you think.

Which rule of law wins? The administrative state? Or the Constitution? Because right now, we’re seeing this play out with the covid-19 vaccine mandates and passports.

And we look at justice. Holding people accountable. Could Durham’s investigation go a lot higher than just the low-hanging fruit and middle-men Durham has so far indicted?

One of America’s top constitutional lawyers thinks so. Tune in to find out why.

This week: defending faith is defending freedom. And on Tuesday, we saw a lot of both as parents rose up to push back on being called “domestic terrorists” by their own government. Especially for exercising their rights of free speech to stand up to school boards determined to shove Marxist ideology and Critical Race Theory garbage on their kids.

As we’ve said for some time now, you won’t see a renewal in America until we see a revival in the Church.

Marxist/Socialist Attacks on Faith

Marxism and all its forms (socialism, communism, etc.) is the enemy of faith. That’s not opinion, that’s fact. Marx famously called religion the drug of the people. That’s because the two cannot coexist. Marxism and socialism will not share space with and cannot tolerate faith in anything other than government.

Donna Jackson from Project 21 joins us as we look at a SCOTUS case where coach Joseph Kennedy was fired for kneeling alone for a moment of prayer after football games and the chilling effect this could have on public officials. But is it time to go on the offense? Clearly, sitting back, staying on the sidelines, and letting things happen has not worked because the professional agitators (paid for with your tax dollars no less), have seized control of the ball. And won’t give up.

With both our guests, we also look at the stunning wins Tuesday night at all levels — and by many who expressed their faith and defense of America and her values, defeating progressives at every level of government. Are we seeing a revival in the face of Leftists trying to reform America?

Wait. Faith in Hollywood?

We’re also joined by James Hirsen, author of the bestselling Tales from the Left Coast. James weighs in on the remarkable rejection of the Left’s ideology in Tuesday’s elections. Some results were practically miraculous. Including on in Buffalo, NY, which we hadn’t heard about.

But is there, perhaps, even in revival happening in Hollywood?

More actors open up about their faith, sharing about God’s role in their lives. But this has its dangers too. As many actors, in mostly-Godless Hollywood have found out.

Have Faith. In God, in America

What do you think? Are we seeing a revival across America? A revival of faith and a revival of pro-America? And what do we need to do to keep this rolling?

This Week: Arizona Audit & Stolen Elections

It’s all about the Arizona audit this week. But we take a different tack. We look at the stories behind the story of the Arizona audit.

Head to Fix2020First.com. Sign Mike Lindell’s petition to encourage the Supreme Court to accept the bill of complaints brought by patriotic states to save our country.

We talk first with Horace Cooper, co-chair of Project 21 and a constitutional law professor who gives us some historical context of the protections our Founders put in place for elections. And a look at other stolen elections. He also gives us insights into the remedies that exist and what should have happened with the contested 2020 election. And that new law Oregon passed to prevent the scrubbing of its voter rolls? Yeah. That’s going to have, shall we say, “unique” problems.

Then we talk with our go-to scientist, Chuck Wiese.  Chuck is trained in data analysis and he goes through the numbers that prove, conclusively, that there was fraud in the Arizona election. And what points to fraud in other states.

But first we take a look at the stories now being told by the Arizona audit observers. Who, until now, have been under a non-disclosure order to not discuss what they saw and heard. Tune in to hear these important observation that adds more context to the audit, above and beyond a bunch of numbers.

If you were on the fence before, this will convince you.

It’s time to do audits. In all 50 states.

But unless and until people start going to jail, none of this matters. Because they will just try it again and again and again. Which is why you need to support election audit efforts.

This Week: The Democrats’ Lies

It’s all about lies and betrayal this week. No, it’s not a soap opera. It’s politics.

As we asked last week, why is it wrong for you to lie to the government, but somehow perfectly okay when the government lies to you? You heard the web of lies the governments (federal and state) spun to take away your freedoms and push a fake “FDA approved” vaccine on people. Which is why Senator Dennis Linthicum announced he and Sen. Kim Thatcher have called for a grand jury investigation.

ICYMI, listen to last week’s show: Senator Dennis Linthicum discusses covid grand jury

Judas, Benedict Arnold, Tina Kotek

Okay, that’s a little hyperbole. After all, Judas and Benedict Arnold were, up until their betrayals, were trustworthy. Because it’s the nature of betrayal that only people you trust can betray you. Tina Kotek, however, is a known liar and anything she said, including a power-sharing deal, should have been viewed with suspicion.

And, surprise surprise, she reneged on the deal she struck with Republicans after getting what she wanted.

Democrat Betrayal: The Setup

In case you missed it, Republicans in Oregon’s House had successfully slowed down the democrats plan to pass thousands of bills. (Without reading them, of course.) So the Republicans, using a legislative tool open to any legislator, demanded each bill be read in its entirety on the House floor, before taking a vote. Since some of these bills are 100s of pages long, things slowed to snail’s pace.

Did you know? If you have Amazon Prime, you can now say, “Alexa, play the I Spy Radio Show on Amazon Music.”

So, Tina Kotek approached the Republicans and said she would give them a co-chair position on the Congressional Redistricting Committee. Which has the power to redraw the congressional districts. So, against advice from pretty much everyone, Republican “leadership” jumped on it. And gave up their power to slow bills. Or walk out on the gun bill. So Tina got what she wanted. And, as good betrayals go, for awhile it looked like she would keep her word.

Except, when things didn’t go her way (the democrats’ plan involved giving Portland control over at least 4 of Oregon’s 6 congressional districts), she yanked the deal. Let’s be clear. She yanked the deal AFTER getting her side of it, what she wanted.

Marc Thielman on Government (and Democrat) Lies

We welcome back Republican candidate for governor, Marc Thielman. We had Marc on a few weeks ago, ironically, to discuss lies from the government because Thielman is also the superintendent of Alsea School District and Gov. Kate Brown and the democrats relentlessly attacked him.

Why? Because Alsea School District was one of the few schools that stayed open during covid. And guess what—they didn’t have a single case of covid traced back to the school.

That meant his actions destroyed their narrative. Their web of lies. That you must cower in fear under your desks (due to fear of covid or the government?). Except they didn’t in Alsea and things were just fine. Brown’s and the democrats’ latest attacks were to call him out for his daring to suggest parents could ask for exemptions for their children on being forced to wear masks.

And there’s nothing big-government democrats hate more than being exposed for frauds. So we wanted to have him back.

Tune in this week to hear Marc Thielman’s responses to Tina Kotek’s betraying the Republicans, how the Republicans should have handled it, dealing with government lies—and what democrats fear most.

This show will infuriate you with the democrats’ lies. But you’ll also hear great things, and we think you’ll come away with new hope for Oregon’s future.

Original Air Dates: Sept 18 & 19, 2021 | Sen. Dennis Linthicum & Patti Milne

This Week: Call for Grand Jury Investigation

Last week, Senator Dennis Linthicum surprised us when he casually mentioned he was heading to a press conference to discuss his call for a grand jury into covid-19 malfeasance.

Wait. What now…?

So of course we needed to have him come right back to talk about this. Dr. Henry Ealy and Leah Wilson have both called for a grand jury investigation into public officials’ willful misconduct by manipulating — fear mongering — the data, which has driven the panic-demic.

How We Got Here

200 million Americans are vaccinated but daily cases are 300% higher than last year when there were zero people vaccinatedIt’s been just over 11 years since the democrats forced Obamacare on the nation. Or “Deemed it passed” as Nancy said. Which led to the democrats seeing massive losses in 2010. And losing both the house and the senate.

A couple years later, Oregon went through its own “Healthcare Transformation”, which put Oregon’s own version of Obamacare into place, in case Obamacare was ever tossed out.

So we thought it would be a good idea to look back at how we got here. How did we move from a free-market system for health care to one that now seems to think it can order you to inject yourself with experimental vaccines?

We talk with former county commissioner, Patti Milne, who was in the thick og the battle as democrats pushed through Oregon’s grand scheme. Except here’s the thing: they had willing (duped) allies in their republican counterparts.

Exposing Election Fraud; Help for Wildfire Victims

Show Summary: You might think election fraud and wildfires have nothing in common. Except of course election fraud determines who gets into office. And those who are elected then set policies like let-it-burn forest management. This week we look at the audits uncovering election fraud in Arizona, which are spreading like wildfire to other states. And if they uncover election fraud, what then?

Original Air Dates: July 31st & Aug 1st, 2021 | Horace Cooper & Valerie Odai

This Week: Election Fraud & Relief Angels

When there are threats that surround you, and you can’t figure things out on your own, the first reaction is usually to find the experts who know how to deal with the problems. This week’s show we turn to two experts to help us understand the magnitude of what’s happening.

We start with election fraud. Because the far-left wants you to believe that by questioning results you are somehow the one who wants to destroy elections. Which is a form of intimidation by shutting down the discussion rather than examining the problem. But Arizona has stayed strong, finishing up their ballot audit and are now preparing the final report. So far, the preliminary reports have been damning.

See the election fraud list of what’s been uncovered so far in Maricopa

Even still there are those, like Biden’s administration, that will do what they can to stop the process. So we turn to a constitutional expert to help us plow through the smoke and mirrors the far-left has been instrumental in placing before us.

Election Fraud with Horace Cooper

First up, and new to our show, Horace Cooper who is a senior fellow with the National Center for Public Policy Research, Co-Chairman of the Project 21 National Advisory Board, and a legal commentator. Mr. Cooper taught constitutional law at George Mason University and has been observing elections and their results—and the fraud involved—for years. He discusses past elections and crimes by election officials, along with the current election audits. We also tackle the misconceptions that the far-left is desperately spinning to distract.

And what if there is evidence of actual fraud here? What then?

Help for Oregon Wildfire Victims: Relief Angels with Valerie Odai

Then our next guest is also a newcomer to I Spy, Executive Director, Valerie Odai, of Relief Angles at www.relief-angels.org. Right now, Oregon has the largest forest fire in the nation, the Bootleg fire in southern Oregon, which is approaching half a million acres. While the fire fighters are making headway, the relief efforts in these remote areas are only just beginning.

We asked Ms. Odai to come on, to give us updates on the relief efforts that are ongoing and what is needed for the families impacted by this devasting fire. But she gives us much more by giving us a glimpse into the efforts that volunteers are doing to keep necessary goods going to the families in need and what other regions that they are involved in. Listen to hear about the courageous work so many volunteers are willing to do and find out how to help them achieve their goal of making people less fearful and rebuild their lives.

We hope you’ll join in. With all the hurt and damage, what a great thing to know that even a little help is huge when you’ve lost everything.

Be sure to visit Relief Angels! Every bit helps. Little bits add up to big bits.

The list of voter/election fraud in Maricopa County, Arizona

In a state Biden “won” by 10,457 votes, here’s the findings so far:

  • 3,981 people were allowed to vote despite registering after the Oct 15 deadline
  • 11,326 people in the county who voted in the November 3 election were NOT on the voter rolls on November 7, but were added to the voter rolls by December 4. In other words, they registered AFTER election day but still had their votes counted.
  • Roughly 18,000 voted but were removed from voter rolls after the election
  • 74,243 mail-in ballots were counted in Maricopa even though there is no evidence of the ballots ever being sent to the “voters” in the first place
  • Thin ballot paper used for approximately 168,000 ballots led to markers “bleeding through” the paper, damaging ballots,
  • Most Republicans vote on election day. Prior to election day, a Maricopa County official had told staff to remind people to use a ballpoint pen. But ON elections day, that same official ordered staff to hand out Sharpie markers to same-day voters even though she knew about concerns with the Sharpies
  • Signature verification disappeared. Originally they used a 20-point verification for signatures, then 10, then five. And then eventually, staff were told to not verify them at all. (Maricopa County is withholding mail-in ballot images that can be used as evidence.)
  • Thousands of ballots had no serial number or was so light as to be unreadable and unverifiable
  • failure of Maricopa to turn over the 40% machines, the passwords that Dominion still refuses to turn over, & tens of thousands of unauthorized queries demonstrating how insecure the election was
  • The election voter data base was breached. There were over 37,000 anonymous administrative queries

But now high- powered Fulton Co. lawyers retained at Fulton Co. taxpayer expense will make a last ditch “Hail Mary” effort to stop us and oppose election transparency similar to recent efforts by the Secretary of State and Attorney General.

    • The legal analyst cited “ghost voting” as the biggest problem. The term “ghost voter” is used to describe dead people that remain on the voter rolls.
    • “If even 1 percent of the vote is fraudulent, he says or implies that’s something we shouldn’t be concerned about,” Cooper said. “We ought to be outraged about it. …What ghost voting is successfully able to do is change what the actual outcome was going to be, to a different outcome.”
    • In the Troy, N.Y., case, … City Councilmen John Brown and Anthony DeFiglio [plead guilty.] … The probe was into whether they forged signatures on applications for absentee ballots and on actual ballots in the 2009 primary race … The Albany Times-Union newspaper reported that most of the fraudulent names were of residents of public housing authority apartments. The paper quoted DeFiglio calling it a “normal political tactic.”
      • In other words, they routinely cheated. Boys will be boys — politicians will be politicians
    • THIS: “What we see in Colorado and in this West Virginia plea agreement is that it’s pretty sinister and there are high-level people that can participate and manipulate the process and they can get away with it,”Cooper said.

Original Air Dates: June 26 & 27 and July 3rd & 4th, 2021 | Greg Leo

This week: It’s our 11th Annual Fourth of July Show! In the past, our shows focused on celebrating the Fourth of July down through the years and what those celebrations looked like. In the then-frontier of the Midwest. On the Oregon Trail at Independence Rock. The big 50th Anniversary. And, among other things, we’ve looked at the Declaration of Independence itself. The key phrases and the history behind them.

Our guest every year for these annual shows is Greg Leo, a political and business consultant by day but his true love is American history. Especially our early history and the events of our founding.

This year, our special focus is on the previous appeals that led to the final, bold statement: The Declaration of Independence.

Leading up to the Declaration: The Olive Branch Petition

Did you know that the Declaration of Independence was not the first appeal to the King? There were two others that could be considered forerunners to the Declaration. We focus on the Olive Branch Petition.

And we take a look at the First Continental Congress and their two main accomplishments. Do you know whose idea a continental congress was in the first place?

The Second Continental Congress, the same one that sent the Declaration of Independence, sent the Olive Branch Petition to the King, in an attempt to avert war. By then, there had been shots fired and people killed at the battles of Lexington and Concord.

Thomas Jefferson did a first draft but Congress considered it too inflammatory. So they turned to John Dickinson, known as the “penman of the revolution” to soften the tone.

Tune in to hear why it didn’t work. Was it inadvertently sabotaged by one of the Declaration’s signers?

“United”? Not Quite

There were some 65 delegates to the 2nd Continental Congress. But a quick count shows only 56 signers. What happened there?

Well. While we often see the Founding Fathers as a united front, getting there wasn’t easy. And it definitely wasn’t always united. We talk to Greg Leo about the divisions and some delegates who had to be replaced to get to that united.

The Signers of the Declaration of Independence

This year we focus on some of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. We hear about them pledging their lives, their fortunes, their sacred honor. And they really meant it. All of them were truly putting everything on the line.

But what led them to be there?

And did you know that some of them weren’t even supposed to be there? One was a substitute for the serving President of the Second Continental Congress but played a key role in the Declaration itself.

With 56 signers, and only a one-hour show, we couldn’t focus on all of them. But we do focus on:

  • John Hancock – you know him for his signature. Why so big? But how did this late arrival end up being the President of the Second Continental Congress? Did you know that in many ways he was the Donald Trump of the Revolution?
  • John Morton – I know. Who? You’ve probably never heard of him but he was the key vote. He was also the first signer to die.
  • Button Gwinnett — The second signer to die but not from what you might think. This signer embodied the idea of sacred honor.
  • Samuel Adams — Most people think of him for beer. Except he wasn’t a brewer. What else don’t you know about him? He was
  • John Adams — A creature of politics and a rival to many. Most famously to Thomas Jefferson over states’ rights vs. powerful federal government. Hear about his intercepted letter.
  • Thomas Jefferson — The workhorse who wrote most of the Declaration. A complicated and conflicted man for sure but how’d he get to the 2nd Continental Congress in the first place?
  • Charles Carroll – the very last of the signers of the Declaration of Independence to die. Imagine the changes he saw in the 56 years after the signing.

Links and Info on the Signers of the Declaration

Some Signers We Just Couldn’t Get To

  • Joseph Hewes – A successful Businessman who put it all on the line. He was a merchant and had quite a few ships and was the “go-to expert” in Congress for maritime issues. He placed his ships at the service of the Continental Armed Forces. And he served Congress as the Secretary of the Naval Affairs Committee until 1779, when he fell ill.
  • Thomas Lynch Jr. – He was commissioned a company commander in the South Carolina regiment in 1775. … He fell ill shortly after signing the Declaration and retired from the Congress. At the close of 1776 he and his wife sailed for the West Indies. The ship disappeared and there is no record of his life after.
  • Richard Stockton – He was captured and tortured: “New Jersey was overrun by the British in November of ’76, when he was returning from the mission. He managed to move his family to safety, but was captured and imprisoned by the British. Originally, he was taken to Perth Amboy where he was jailed. Stockton was then moved to Provost Prison in New York where he was intentionally starved and subjected to freezing cold weather. Died of lip cancer before the war was finished
  • George Taylor – A bit of a quirky story. He actually arrived too late to vote for independence but signed the Declaration.
  • John Witherspoon – One of two ministers to sign, though the other (Lyman Hall) was also a physician
