This Week – Why Christians Need to Vote

Why do some people not take action when, if they did, they could have a major impact? And this is especially true of Christians. Who, ironically, are called to be the salt and light of the Earth. That doesn’t mean just standing there. It means doing something. Taking action.

And yet, according to one study, up to 73 million American Christians, may not vote in the 2024 election. Even if just half of them voted it would ensure victory against a Kamala Harris administration that has proven to be hostile to Christians and to Christianity. So why sit out the election?

This week we talk about should Christians vote, why don’t Christians vote, and how do we get Christians to vote. It’s time to get out of the pew and into the voting booth.

Why Christians Need to Vote: Protestant/Evangelical Perspective

First up, we talk with Pastor Lew Wootan from The River Church in Salem, Oregon. Pastor Lew walks us through why Christians should definitely vote and be engaged. And some of the bad information that would encourage Christians not to vote. As Pastor Lew sees it, churches that are not engaged, and pastors that encourage Christians not to be engaged, have a wrong perception about the duty of Christians. Which is to be engaged and active rather than invisible.

Pastor Lew especially takes aim at the notion that we are to be “in the world but not of the world” and how that has been wrongly used to disengage Christians from society.

Tune in to hear from an evangelical perspective not just why Christians need to vote but why Christians absolutely need to vote.

And then we talk with Tommy Valentine, the director of the Catholic Accountability Project at CatholicVote—the nation’s largest lay Catholic advocacy organization. CatholicVote came to our attention after several news sources broke the story that CBS refused to air their devastating ad against Kamala Harris’s attack on children. Including mutilating transgender surgeries.

Let’s not forget. The Biden/Harris administration has been openly hostile to Christians of all faiths. Biden/Kamala sent the FBI to spy on Christian parents who went to school board meetings to protest woke, anti-Christian ideology being pushed on their children. Biden and Kamala have defended pornography in school libraries. And they have completely destroyed the protections for girls and women in favor of biological men when they rewrote Title IX. (See our previous show on Biden/Harris destroying Title IX.)

This Week – What’s at Stake

It’s never just about the candidates running. It’s what’s at stake after the election. And we look at just two elements with huge implications of those potential futures. While the economy gets most of the attention, it’s much more than that.

First, we look at control over federal agencies, and whether those will expand or be reined in and deregulated. Or even disbanded. The regulatory agencies are the leash on the economy. Will the economy be given more rope or even let run off leash? Or chained up?

You can guess which candidate wants what on that. But with the new Loper-Bright Supreme Court decision, that overturned a previous SCOTUS ruling, Congress could, if it has the backbone, rein in these overreaching agencies that prevent economic expansion. We talk with Kimberley Herman, the executive director of Southeastern Legal Foundation, about what the overturn of the Chevron deference could mean for the future of government.

What’s at Stake: 640 million acres of federal lands

Years ago, we followed the effort to allow states to take possession of the federal lands within their own borders that had been promised to them at the time of statehood. And all the federal land that might be at stake thanks to a potential Supreme Court ruling — if they take it up and if the next administration acts on it.

That is, after all, what happened with the states east of the Mississippi. None of those states have massive amounts of land in their borders still held by the federal government. But for states West of the Mississippi and in particular, West of the Rockies, states have tremendous amounts of land within their borders still held by the federal government. Oregon has 53.03% of its land that is not its land—it’s held by the federal government. and it’s also tremendously mismanaged by the federal government. Meaning they don’t. And that’s why Oregon has massive forest fires every year. When you don’t manage forests they become kindling factories.

Now, a new lawsuit by Utah is at the Supreme Court. All they need are four justices to vote to hear the case before the full court. This could have huge implications for states that have so much of their land held by the federal government which is doing nothing with it. Imagine the impact of land being brought into active production and use whether that’s agriculture, timber, mining, camping, hunting… Kind of activity that will spur the economy. not to mention create taxable wealth for the government. Rather than letting it sit there and rot and burn which only wastes taxpayers’ money.

We welcomed back long-time guest, Myron Ebell (although it’s been a long time since we last spoke), who is now the chairman of American Lands Council.

This Week – Bidenomics: Economic Dementia

Despite the left stream media’s best cheerleading efforts, actual data about the economy is getting out. And it’s not good. Spikes in business bankruptcies. Especially small business bankruptcies. Even personal bankruptcies.

With all the business bankruptcies, and others reporting on the verge of bankruptcy, it’s no wonder that there is also a spike in store closings. If they continue at this rate,

In an America suffering from economic dementia, we need some common sense. Which is why we turn to Jonathan Williams, the Executive Vice President of Policy and the Chief Economist for ALEC. The American Legislative Exchange Council.

Under Bidenomics, 27% of Americans say they skip meals due to rising food costs.And 39%  skip meals to make house or rent payments

It seems there is no end of bad economic indicators. (Just take a gander at the show notes below.) A spike in bankruptcies. Cruelly keeping interest rates high Thousands and thousands of store closures. Including discount stores. (How bad is Bidenomics when people can’t even afford to shop at discount stores?) And regulations weighing down businesses. And in the middle of all that Joe Biden and the democrats want to raise taxes? That’s not just economic dementia. That’s economic suicide.

The only way out is to change the people in charge. Because if the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results, then electing the same politicians is political insanity.

The left-stream media and democrats have signaled (okay, shouted) they want Dementia Joe to go. CNN, if you can believe it, just fact-checked Biden’s “high-stakes news conference”. Yes. CNN!

Be on the lookout. Joe Biden’s economy has been terrible ever since he’s been in office. But the media has been providing propaganda cheerleading to convince you otherwise. Bt when the left-stream media stops covering for Joe’s economic dementia? That’s when you’ll know the knives are out.

Because no one wins an election when the economy is in the toilet.

This Week – The Mar a Lago Raid

With the Mar a Lago raid, the resident in the White House once again demonstrated he was elected through voter fraud. Simply, if you won by millions of votes, there’s no need to try to prosecute people who say you didn’t. If you won legitimately and fairly and honestly, you have nothing to fear. But you do have plenty to fear if you didn’t. And even more so if the person who says you didn’t has evidence that you didn’t.

Is that what the FBI was after when they decided to raid Mar a Lago? Trump was sitting on evidence of voter fraud? Or maybe it was evidence of the Russia collusion hoax, which proved who was involved and what they did. Or perhaps it was all a set up. The government packed his boxes with confidential materials that they could then claim Trump stole — in a scheme to stop him from running again.

Regardless, the FBI and DOJ deciding to raid Mar a Lago will go down in history as one of the most unseemly acts of any president. Even Nixon wouldn’t have done it. Think of that.

And did you catch that weird “we must punish those who oppose us” speech from Biden the other day? It looked like what would happen if Hitler and Stalin had a baby.

But all of this points to one conclusion: the FBI and DOJ are beyond redemption. And pretty much every other agency.

And THAT is the reason they raided Mar a Lago. Punish anyone who would expose and oppose the system.

The FBI Must be Dismantled

When a limb gets infected with gangrene, many times it needs to be amputated. We’re at that stage with the FBI.

We’re also at that stage with the CIA. The NSA. The SEC. And certainly with the FDA, CDC, EPA, and the Energy, Education, and a host of other departments. And let’s definitely not forget about the IRS. The infection and corruption has become so widespread within these agencies, they need to amputated or the whole body will die.

The FBI and DOJ are clinging to this notion that they can still be trusted. Sorry. That’s not how trust works. You can’t say “trust me” when you just committed untrustworthy actions.

This week, we talk with Scott Shephard who is an attorney and himself a director of a program—an “agency”—at the National Center for Public Policy Research. We get his insights from an attorney’s viewpoint and that of a director/manager about what needs to happen to the FBI. Is it time for the FBI to be disbanded? Or can they still be saved? How can you tell? And what to do if (when!) they are disbanded. Now that the emotions have died down—a little—from the Mar a Lago raid, we can dissect what happened and what to be done.

And of course we can’t have Scott on without a quick catch up on two of The Free Enterprise Project’s lawsuits: Against Starbucks just filed this week and one already at trial against Nasdaq.

This Week – Our Many Healthcare Crises

We continue our deep dive into the problems plaguing our health care system—the many healthcare crises and the ever-growing expense. How is it that we are spending more than ever — by far! — on healthcare and yet it’s just one crisis after another? 

But this week, we zero in on the two main problems. And they should be no surprise, really, for anyone who has followed I Spy Radio’s many shows on healthcare or for anyone who has a lick of common sense. The two root causes are money and government. Particularly, government interference.

And he walks you through the government interfering with the free market, much of which can be traced back to a 1943 IRS ruling.

If you didn’t already think “they” are destroying things on purpose, you’ll believe it after this show. No one, no government, makes this many “mistakes” on purpose.

This week: On Thursday, attorney Sidney Powell carefully and methodically laid out the basics to their evidence against the Dominion voting machines. Machines that were purchased in swing states whose governors or secretary of states were able to pocket income from the contracts their state signed with Dominion. And that was just the opening salvos at the Giuliani press conference.

But what must have been troubling for Dominion is the shear volume of evidence Sidney Powell is pulling together to go after them.  And she is clear, she’ll be proving her case in court in the next two weeks.

Then Friday morning Rush Limbaugh reports that Dominion was a no show for the Pennsylvanian State House hearing on Friday morning.  And Rush said that nobody seemed to know where they were with their offices vacated and shuttered.  Poof.  Dominion has disappeared.

In a separate action Rudy Giuliani, attorney for the campaign, laid out his evidence for the ballot fraud in Michigan and Pennsylvania.  It too highly devastating to the states’ ballot fraud from those wanting to get Biden into office.

The Media’s Response

And with all these pieces in motion, the mainstream media seems only to be reporting on their fantasies and beliefs, not on the news. We once again hear their “move along, nothing here to see” mantra as they dismiss any of Trump’s legal team deliverables, as anything other than inaccurate, and with no proof behind their allegations.

We’re joined this week by Thomas Raineri, a lawyer who volunteered with President Trump’s reelection team, and was on the ground near Pittsburgh. Right from the moment he arrived at the canvassing location, there was trouble. A guard confessed to him his misgivings about what he’d witnessed during the middle of the night: workers running ballots through the machines.

We talk with James about some of the election theft happening in other states besides Pennsylvania. And we discuss what’s being done about this by Team Trump.

The 2020 Election Secret Weapon: Down Ballot Races

Yes, the presidential race is incredibly important. (Vote Trump!) But that’s just the start of it. For too many voters, the down ballot races get overlooked. And, shockingly, a lot of them are left empty. The “down ballot” races are just that: races further down the ballot from the top spot.

In most elections, the presidential race gets by far the most votes. Usually, there is a 20% drop off in participation from the number of votes for president to the number of votes for the next race—often a U.S. Senator. From there, the next down ballot race drops another 20% of participation. And on and on it goes until there’s only a trickle of participation for the lesser-known races, like judges, city/county races, and area races like water boards and school boards.

Why Down Ballot Races are So Critical

There are a couple reasons why down ballot races are so critical. First, because so many people don’t vote in the down ballots, your vote effectively has more weight. That means your vote has more weight. Because your neighbor is ignoring or forgetting to vote those down ballot races, you get to have more say.

Second, down ballot races are important because of the very nature of our system. Yes, the presidential race is critical. (Vote Trump!) As is the governor’s race when it happens. But while people at the top—the President or governor—control the agenda because they have the executive power, it’s the people down ballot races who control the people at the top. Or should.

Here in Oregon, it’s not that the legislature couldn’t have acted to take away Gov Brown’s emergency powers. It’s that the democrat-controlled legislature refused to take away her emergency dictator powers. Flip the house to Republican control. Flip the senate. And suddenly democrat dictator Kate has her endless powers taken away and reined in. 

Red vs Blue. Does it really matter?

People sometimes say, “It doesn’t matter who’s in charge. Both parties are equally bad.”

Really? Let’s look at red states vs blue states. Red states have unemployment 62% lower than blue states. In most red states they have lower covid cases than blue states. Lower hospitalization rates. more freedoms and more economic freedom. And on and on. (See more ways Red states are beating Blue states at Just the News.)

If they’re equally bad, why are Red states doing so much better? If they’re equally bad, why is there more freedom in Red states. And why do their people have so much more hope for the future?

If there’s no difference, why is it in California, the king of blue states, Democrat Gov Newsome is trying his best to make Thanksgiving — a day of joy and gratitude and giving thanks — into a day of misery by micromanaging it to death. No more than 3 households. Must be outdoors. Report who’s came. No singing.

So, yes! Yes, it really does matter. There is a tremendous difference between the parties. And right now it comes down to hope and joy and love and embrace of life on the Republican side. While on the Democrat side, it’s fear and doom and life horrible and there’s no point to it. 

Vote Red to Save America

Each election is about giving someone control over your life. At the end of it, somoene will have legal control over your life and business. You have a say. And this year, don’t waste it by giving even more control to people who want to control you.

Whether you’re a Democrat, a Republican, Independent, or unaffiliated, we urge you to vote Republican this year. Vote Red in every race, every down ballot race. Because the Democrat Party has made it clear they want socialism. And people who want more power over you, need to have it taken from them.

This Week: On last week’s “best of” show with Scott McEwen, we discussed whether the corona virus was one of, if not the biggest, intelligence failures of all times. How did our intel community so badly missed what was happening in China? And even the mainstream media is waking up to the question, “Did China lie about what was happening?” And the questions about China are only just beginning.

So this week we are taking a deeper look at China as well as the U.S. and the world’s response to the “tyranny of experts.”

China Lied? Or something Else?

You have to wonder how the virus broke out of China and was spread worldwide when so many countries watch for those types of viral, biomedical attacks. Was it by accident? Or was there something much more nefarious?

If you remember when Trump first took office in 2016, even some senators were actually telling the intelligence community, “Don’t give Trump the full intelligence reports.” Given that, is it possible in 2020 some inside the intelligence community weren’t forthcoming about what was really happening inside China? Were there still deep state operatives who kept the truth from Trump on the corona virus as a set up to make him look bad? Even shutting down one of the most successful economies of all time?

But putting aside the maybe-they-did-maybe-they-didn’t, how is that one computer model, loaded with only guesswork from an rather small university in London manage to shut down the world so fast? Global warming enthusiast and supporters are most likely licking their lips as they see their dream come true—rule by mathematical modelling. But what does it prove? That if outcomes are scary enough people will adhere?

A Peek Over The Wall: China’s Perceptions of Itself and the West

We explore all those questions this week with geopolitical expert, Dr. Tim Ball. We usually have him on to talk Global Warming but this week, we tap into another of his areas of expertise. (Did you know Dr. Ball served in the military and had a top-secret security clearance?) We look at what the communist regime, their strategy, and the Chinese culture and history reveal about their truthfulness.

How China truly looks at the west, combined with how the West looks at China, makes for dynamic ripe for exploitation. We take a good, long look at China and examine how it’s unique geography and communist rule creates the perfect storm for a worldwide problem.

And we haven’t heard the end of “China lied.” Not by a long shot. Instead, things are only going to heat up. On Thursday, news began to break about federal investigators looking into some odd travel patterns by Chinese nationals in the early days of the Wuhan virus. Stay tuned for more on that in the coming weeks.

The Tyranny of Experts

Also, we look at how we’re now in an era of governing by computer models that can “prove” anything they want. And enslave societies to whatever the latest “scientific model” puts out. Did we miss the part where we entered The Matrix…?

And when it comes closer to home, not to mention our future, what will things look like on the other side of the virus scare? Clearly, going forward, we need more opinions and data than from just one source. But how do you fight the argument, “If we hadn’t done ______”? We talk with Dr. Ball to look at the impact of the few examples of “What might have happened” and how we can apply those to the U.S. and right here in Oregon.

Especially for next time. Because this new situation has many unintended consequences. And we need to think it through, thoroughly, so that we can be prepared for the next time a pandemic occurs.

When it comes to economic outlook, there’s no better organization to turn to than ALEC — American Legislative Exchange Council, the nation’s premiere economic forecaster for the 50 states. And when it comes to Oregon’s economic outlook, they know what can make Oregon successful.

If only Oregon Democrats did.

We’ve said often that Oregon is the Petri dish for all things Left, except the Petri dish is no longer needed to prove what works or doesn’t work in economics.  States across the U.S. are demonstrating how increased taxes are not the way to economic recovery.  And even though the proof is in the pudding our Democrat legislators refuse to take heed.

Now ranked a very dismal 44th in ALEC’s survey of economic outlook among the states, Oregon may soon find their economic coffers emptying as businesses leave to move to much more friendly taxed states.  It’s already happening. Stimson Lumber announced this last week that they were packing up, closing their operations in Forest Grove, and heading out of state.

Oddly, with all its spending, Oregon may soon be one of the biggest cheerleaders of the Trump economy. Because what do you think will happen if suddenly the economy retreats when Oregon just decided to raise billions in new taxes?

Jonathan Williams from ALEC

To bring clarity to the problems of high taxed states we bring on Jonathan Williams, co-author of Rich States Poor States to give us the good and bad news of how states are dealing with Trump’s booming economy.  He discusses Oregon’s problems and why it was ranked so low—and that was before the new multi-billion-dollar business tax was passed.

We also get to look at what states like Idaho, Texas, Tennessee and others are doing not only enjoying Trump’s tax cuts but jumping on and cutting their own state taxes that highly benefits their citizens. (Like and support your people? What a concept!)

Listen to find out how Oregon is starting down the path of socialism by the D’s desire for centralized planning.  Hear what one Democrat Senator had to say while standing on the senate floor about businesses that could no longer afford to stay in Oregon. If nothing else, Oregon Democrats are proving the importance of borders. If the D’s get too destructive you can vote with your feet.
