This Week:  Part 2 of our interview with former CIA whistle-blower, John Kiriakou, who was targeted for punishment.

As you heard last week, Kiriakou’s case was an example of the abuse of power. It was eerily similar (okay, exactly like) to what we are seeing in the Mueller probe. Last week, we also heard echoes of what has come out in the Inspector General’s report released last Thursday: people in positions of power, using that power to attack and destroy people they don’t like. Setting themselves up as judge, jury, and executioner.

If you missed last week’s broadcast go to I Spy’s archives to listen to the free podcast.  What you’ll hear is a story that is eerily similar to what came out of the IG report and to what we know about the Mueller probe. It’s a story about federal agencies being used to harass and target enemies of the Deep State. People who are meant to be made an example of so others don’t dare cross them — or dare to expose what really happened.

Our guest, John Kiriakou, faced their wrath and abuse of power in a very personal way.  He’s the “whistleblower” who went on ABC and confirmed the CIA was using torture on terrorists. Angry at being exposed, someone in the agency sought revenge and unleashed the FBI on John, including a secret four-year investigation that tracked his every move, including an effort to entrap him for treason.

So, this week we continue that conversation. We dig a little deeper into John Brennan, Robert Mueller, and John Kerry. We also find out more information on the investigators (or were they spies?) in Trump’s presidential campaign. But was Trump the only campaign being spied on?

Tune in to hear the leverage and tentacles that the CIA has over government officials and how they get it. And is there a current member of Oregon’s Congressional delegation on whom the CIA may have some dirt?

On today’s show, John Kiriakou will walk you through what it was like to be recruited (out of the blue) by the CIA, his training, and their attempt to recruit him into their enhanced interrogation program.

Things were going well until he was accused by ABC News of being one of the torturers of Abu Zubaydah, who was waterboarded. When John went on TV to defend himself and told Brian Ross about the program, which by then was declassified, someone in the CIA decided to silence him.

Join us as we hear John Kiriakou’s incredible story. How the CIA used the FBI to spy on him—an American citizen and patriot—in an effort to silence an enemy of the Deep State.

Tune in to hear how someone in the CIA urged the Obama administration to reopen his case, how the FBI launched a secret surveillance on him, tried to entrap him into committing treason, and when that didn’t work, used their bottomless prosecutorial checkbook to try to bankrupt him.

You’ll hear eerily similar tactics being used in the Mueller probe to force witnesses to do their will.

Republican victories in California. So much for that Blue Wave
So much for that “Blue Wave”

Be sure to tune in this week as we look ahead at the November 2018 races by looking at what happened in the 2018 California primaries. Is there hope for California?

Will the hate-filled rhetoric from the Left fire up their base?

At the end of all this, who’s going to need that other southern border? Oregon? Or California? If California can turn things around and drive the Democrats from office, we may not need that wall on Oregon’s Southern border after all.

But Calif might want one — to keep out Oregonians if we can’t get our act together.

On this Memorial Day weekend, we remember those who’ve gone before. We salute those who died in the service of this country, who put their lives on the line to protect and defend our country.

But we also should remember those who came before us who helped build this country. Who lived perfectly ordinary lives. Who taught us. Preached sermons. Who raised crops and businesses and the next generation. Who voted and participated and who helped keep alive the dream our Founding Fathers gave us.

We all know the saying, freedom is one generation from extinction. And while that’s true, we also hear all the time that our freedom is under attack today more than it ever has been before. But it really is true. Our Freedom is under attack now more than ever. Why? Because the enemies of Freedom keep coming up with new and inventive ways to undermine freedom.

Think for a moment of where we are today. And then think how bad it will be one generation from now.

FBI Spies and Lies

In the 70s it was Watergate. A second-rate burglary of a political opponent by operatives of the Nixon administration that led to a coverup and his resignation.

Now, some 40 years later, we have “Spygate”.

Instead of a second-rate burglary by political aides, the Obama administration used actual trained and hired spies and informants from the FBI to go after a political opponent. This led to a coordinated and well-planned effort to stage a not-so-silent coup attempt of a duly elected president. We’re in the middle of the attempted coverup. But will Obama face charges? Will his co-conspirators face charges?

A generation after Nixon, we have less freedom and less Justice. Every aspect of our life is spied on by every element of government. In Nixon’s time, people went to jail. Today, those responsible for spying on a political opponent seem highly unlikely to face any real justice. You can barely even fire them.

Uncomfortable Questions about FBI Spygate

Imagine the non-stop howling and shrieking by the mainstream media if George W. Bush had used the FBI, CIA, and to investigate Obama because they thought he might be a Muslim.

They’d still be wiping up the blood from the set of CNN as a steady stream of heads exploded non-stop for months at a time. But the FBI’s Spygate? Silence and denial where there should be utter

But something strange happened as a result of Obama was weaponizing the federal government against its citizens: the truth came out. Yes. The truth. The Russian collusion has gone out the window. Now, the truth emerges as the FBI Spygate destroys Russian collusion narrative.

The truth is, we know Obama’s FBI, CIA, IRS, NSA, and others were all snooping on candidate Trump. We know Obama was using the Attorney Generals to go after global warming deniers. We know Obama used the IRS to harass and target conservative non-profits.

So here’s the question: was Obama not the first to do this?

Could this be why the FBI has been so unwilling to admit there were actual spies, “human intelligence,” being used to infiltrate the Trump team. And even try to entrap Trump officials?

But where are the sensible Democrats? They’re silent. And that’s a mistake. Because

if freedom is one generation away from extinction, remaining silent only speeds that extinction. If Democrats are okay with Obama spying on and setting up Trump to take a fall — they’re giving permission to Trump to do the same thing to a Democrat opponent.

We should all be united on this. Freedom is worth defending. Even if it means fighting for your opponent’s rights and freedom.

On today’s show, we’ll talk national issues with Kristina Wong of Brietbart News. We’ll talk the demise of the Russian collusion narrative, we’ll talk SypGate, and a surprising reason why the NK talks may have suddenly been cancelled.

And we’ll talk statewide issues with The First Lady of Conservative Talk Radio, Jayne Carroll. We’ll ask some uncomfortable questions about what happened in the Oregon primary.Sam Carpenter supporters think Greg Wooldridge may have been a plant to split the conservative vote and get Knute Buehler in. Was he?

Regardless, the Republican Party of Oregon is floundering. And failing. Declining numbers of voters  registered as Republicans (a paltry 27%), no energy, no excitement, and a poor turnout in the primary. What can be done?

We’ll discuss repairing the Republican party here in Oregon and what that might look like.

This Week: Monday, May 14th, is the 70th anniversary of Israel’s Independence. Also on Monday, under President Trump’s directive, the US is opening their embassy in Israel. But it’s happening when so much else is swirling all around them. With the mainstream media pundits predicting nothing but doom and gloom no matter what Trump does, we thought we’d turn to someone who actually understands the conflict. Someone who knows the Arabic and Islamic culture of anti-Israel. Because he lived it. And was willing to die for it.

Insights on Israel from an Expert (Former) Hater

We go to a real expert, not a pundit. A person who was born in Beirut, trained by the Muslim Brotherhood and PLO, and later commissioned by a Saudi Prince to come to America to wage a cultural jihad, and who reads many of the native languages of the Middle East. We turn to Kamal Saleem.

Born in the very land where hatred of everything American and Jewish was taught, Kamal’s later transformation to Christianity only helps us untangle the Islamic religious/political response but the cultural and emotional response surrounding Israel.

This week, Kamal talks about why Israel’s founding took his family by complete surprise, not to mention the surrounding countries as well. Surprisingly, it wasn’t political.

If you wondered why Trump (who said all along he wanted to withdraw from the Iran Deal), waited until now to do it, you’ll hear why he did and why waiting played right into his hand. It turns out there was a very goo reason why Trump waited until now instead of when he first had the chance months ago.

And, as usual, the pundits were wrong. They all said it would backfire. Check out this tweet from an actual Iranian, not some CNN pundit: “As an Iranian, I would like to say: Dear President @realDonaldTrump, Iranians are very grateful for your decision to #CancelIranDeal. ”

This Week:  60 years ago a then-little-known man, Brother Andrew, stood up to help those Christians being persecuted in Russia when he smuggled bibles across Russia’s border.  His story of risking everything to bring hope to persecuted Christians behind the Iron Curtain was made famous in the book, God’s Smuggler, and became the starting point for Open Doors USA.

On this weekend’s show, we’re talking about Christian persecution.

In the larger context, it’s about standing up for yourself. For your beliefs. It’s about standing your ground, not giving ground. And it’s about doing so when standing your ground could cost you your life.

Here in America, we’re blessed to be mostly free of persecution. But there is definitely discrimination against Christians. And discrimination is the seed that, if allowed to grow, will become persecution.

America is under assault; especially our values and religious heritage. And that’s a tue shame. In a cruel and senseless world, God is the only thing that makes sense. Our American heritage is built on that faith. To attack the religious underpinnings of our heritages and to remove God is to leave the next generation without the foundations they need to stand on, to make sense of the senseless.  It is removing the landmarks on the journey.

Without the Judeo-Christian heritage, without Christianity, there would be no America.

Open Doors USA: Fghting Christian Persecution Around the World

David Curry, CEO and President of Open Doors USA, takes us through the types of attacks Christians are experiencing around the globe. We discuss why America is so connected to this global fight, why it’s our fight too, and how America’s very founding is so deeply rooted in Judeo-Christian beliefs.

This Week:  It’s politics and trade deals—and how good leadership can lead to good deals and prosperity.

Pundits on the Left and Right spewed economic doom and disaster after Trump announced tariffs on China.  Once again, Trump proves the critics wrong as China largely gave in and there was no trade war. But there’s more to the story than just tariffs.

In fact, the tariffs are the least scary aspect of trade with China.

Before we get to those scarier aspects of the trade war, there’s a war being waged in Oregon. Against Oregon businesses and especially small business owners.

We start our show with Captain Greg Wooldridge, a Republican running for Oregon governor. We ask him many of the same questions we asked last week of his primary opponent, businessman Sam Carpenter.  Our goal is to bring you as much information about these two conservatives that we possibly can so that when you fill out your ballot you feel confident of your decision about whom you think can win in November.

We talk with Greg about Oregon’s economics thanks to the Democrats:

  • Kate Brown’s decision to punish small businesses in Oregon by eliminating the Trump tax break (kept by all the other states);
  • The possible Internet Sales Tax that was just heard before the Supreme Court (and how Oregon’s Democrat Attorney General quietly signed the Amicus Brief in favor of it), which will force businesses in Oregon, which has no sales tax, to collect sales taxes — for other states
  • And the suicide-vest of State funding, PERS — which all of us are about to spend a lot more on just to bail out years of Democrat overspending on it

And it’s Governor Kate Brown who’s led us to this financial cliff.

Tariffs are the Least Scary Part of a China Trade War

As the saying goes, love him or hate him, President Trump is delivering.  And it has to drive his detractors crazy to see him succeed time and again. And it’s both sides of the aisle.

When Trump proposed huge tariffs on China, many on the Right screamed foul. Tariffs are always bad, or so goes the meme. Except the supposed trade war that was supposedly about to be unleashed… never happened. In fact, it’s about to benefit a company right here in Oregon. All thanks to one of those evil, “trade-war” tariffs.

How One of those “Trade War” Tariffs is a Win for Oregon

Recently, a solar company in California — which had been making panels in Asia and which was adamantly against Trump’s tariffs — suddenly realized the tariffs meant it was cheaper to make them in the good ol’ U.S.A. They just announced the purchase of a solar manufacturing company right here in Hillsboro, Oregon.

So, yes elections matter.  Whether you personally love him or hate any politician, you need to determine your vote on what you think they’ll deliver for the state or country.

Oregon Democrat’s Punish Small Business Tax becomes law

We talk to Sam about three major problems that he would face from Day One of taking the reins in Oregon and start to immediately change our direction.  Sam talks to us about what we’ve termed The Punish Small Business Tax (SB 1528) that Kate already signed into law and how devastating it will be for small business.

And we talk about PERS. Especially the lack of good information to even know how much in debt we truly are, with some saying $25 billion, others say $50 billion, and still other reliable estimates that put it up to $100 and even as high as $200 billion.  Who’s right?

We also talk with Sam about the little known Internet Sales Tax that the Supreme Court heard this week. Governor Kate Brown’s Attorney General signed an Amicus Brief in support of yet another punishing blow to Oregon’s small businesses.  If it stands, it will mean that business owners in Oregon, which has no sales tax of its own (yet), will be forced to collect tax for over 12,000 taxing jurisdictions—in other states.

Some states are scrambling for money as big debts are coming due. And Oregon is leading the way—just not in finding the right answers that would promote economic health.

Instead, Democrat Governor Kate Brown seems to be almost working overtime to crush our state’s innovative spirit. So she’s not only killing our ability to not only pay our bills but taking an axe to what could be (with better management) a positive economic environment for small businesses. Or even attract them from other states.

But not in Oregon. Instead, there is a real storm coming for small businesses here in Oregon.

Crushing Small Business. Oregon Style

One of the things you’ll hear in the show this week is how Oregon is targeting small business by divorcing them from the Trump tax break. But then there’s a coming sales tax.

Yes. A sales tax in Oregon.

This is the internet sales tax that is being heard next week in front of the Supreme Court. Oregon small businesses would be forced to collect taxes for states like New York and Washington that have their own sales tax.

Regulations and taxes crush small businesses. Oregon is the example of what NOT to do.But unbeknownst to many, Oregon’s own State Attorney General has signed onto an Amicus Brief to allow a national sales tax on internet purchases.  This will be crushing to Oregon’s small businesses with the increased costs of processing this sales tax. For other states.

It’s the foot in the door to finally create the sales tax Oregon’s Democrats and Big Government Republicans have been longing for.

We start by discussing Congress’s Omnibus bill, which sets the stage for the rest of the discussion.

Then we move to the Left’s “boogeyman”: Kansas and their ill-advised massive tax cut and spending increase. Why? Because the Left uses Kansas to try to scare other states away from cutting taxes. We debunk the myth because what happened in Kansas can help other states learn what not to do (hint, hint Oregon!).

Next, we talk about what Oregon is doing to crush small business, including taking away tax cuts. It’s a punishment that falls on small businesses and only small businesses. Then, it’s the internet sales tax and the grand daddy of spending boondoggles, PERS.

But there is good news (just not in Oregon). Don’t miss what nearby state to watch as the primary example of how smart policies really can create economic health.

According to one commentator, an online retailer can effortlessly track demographic information that includes “‘your age, whether you are married and have kids, which part of town you live in, how long it takes you to drive to the store, your estimated salary, whether you’ve moved recently, what credit cards you carry in your wallet and what Websites you visit … data about your ethnicity, job history, the magazines you read, if you’ve ever declared bankruptcy or got divorced, the year you bought (or lost) your house, where you went to college, what kinds of topics you talk about online, whether you prefer certain brands of coffee, paper towels, cereal or applesauce, your political leanings, reading habits, charitable giving and the number of cars you own.’”
