A carbon tax not only doesn’t work for what they claim it’s supposed to do, but it places an increasing financial burden on citizens. One report has shown tens of thousands of businesses fled California, directly because of California’s carbon tax, in a process known in political circles as “leakage.” Basically, leakage is “How many businesses will leave the state if we pass this bill?”
Well, I’m a business owner who just put my business up for sale because of Salem’s latest self-serving BS: the new “Revenue” tax. And after I sell, I’m leaving the state.

Timber Unity
Government bureaucrats and far-left politicians who support cap & trade seem to believe they know better than the people they’re supposed to represent. Last year the people came together to put their foot down.
The Timber Unity rally on the capitol steps drew together people in rural areas who were tired of latte-sipping liberals looking down their noses at hicks from the country not knowing liberals are just saving the planet. (I wonder how they think the coffee they’d sipping got to their little coffee house?)

Oregon’s Carbon Tax: New and Improved? Hardly.
Even though Salem’s Democrat legislators are trying to sell the “new and improved” carbon bill as something that would only impact people in the city (for now) it’s simply not true. Because more than 80% of all Oregonian communities have their only means of goods shipped, in or out, are only by truck.

Applied Disinformation
When it comes to policy, there’s probably no greater example of applied disinformation than Climate Change. Why? Because it’s based on falsehood that’s not easily disproved. But wait, there’s more.
We talk with Jonathan Williams, the chief economist at ALEC, the American Legislative Exchange Council. First, we start with some typical disinformation when it comes to economics. For example, economic policies that sound like they should be true but aren’t. Like “if we raise taxes, the state will get more money.”
Global Warming: the Biggest Disinformation Campaign of All Time
Climate Change, formerly “global warming,” formerly “global cooling,” is a prime example of a hoax masquerading, through the tools of disinformation, as a legitimate science. With the tools from our first guest, you’ll recognize how and why it’s all a giant disinformation campaign.
But you’ll also hear how this disinformation becomes the basis of damaging economic policy. Like California not touching the forests (that are now burning) and pushing through “green energy” instead of common-sense energy programs. And you’ll hear how it violates common economic principles via government control.

Michael Mann’s hockey stick launched Global Warming Alarmism
What is it that AOC has been championing? Oh yes, we have 12 years to live. And while some of us are old enough to remember four previous “we only have 10 years to do something” events, she’s a good marketer because millennials are so terrified of global warming, they’ve been actually committing suicide over it.
Seriously.
It would be funny if it weren’t so sadly true.
Officialdom of Global Warming Scaremongering
One reason people take this nonsense of Global Warming seriously is because of official reports, like the UN Special Report on Global Warming, released in October, 2018. If you look through it, there it is: 2030 as doomsday. Just 11 years from now as the point of no return—if we keep on our current path and don’t do something. And it’s mentioned 35 times in the report.
So, is it marketing? Or scientific research?
Mann’s Vaunted Hockey Stick
Back in July, we had Dr. Tim Ball on I Spy Radio to discuss American exceptionalism. After our interview, Dr. Ball gave us a heads-up about some fake numbers and scaremongering the IPCC were releasing to prop up their global warming alarmism. We penciled him in for early September.
But then something amazing happened. Because during our wait to have him back on, he won a huge, HUGE court decision on the defamation lawsuit brought by Michael Mann, the hockey stick inventor. The hockey stick that has become the “proof” of global warming.
Hockey Stick or Science Schtick?
Dr. Ball had been sued because he’d taken Mann’s science to task and Mann, not appreciating anyone daring to doubt his science schtick, decided to sue Dr Ball over defamation.
But there was a problem when Dr. Ball asked for Mann’s evidence. Mann wouldn’t deliver the computer program he’s used to interpret the numbers to arrive at his conclusions.
A scientist who didn’t want to reveal his data? Or his methods? That’s a violation of a basic tenant of science: always show your work so others can independently verify it. Instead, Mann cried that his “proprietary information” couldn’t be revealed. Basically, Mann had created his own secret version of Microsoft Excel to interpret the data. No wonder then that no one else has been able to come up with the same results using the same data.
And that’s why it’s not so much a hockey stick as hockey schtick.
But it makes you wonder. If a scientist doesn’t want to reveal his data, is he a scientist? Or a marketer? Or a marketer pretending to be a scientist?
And ask yourself this. Why would Mann create falsified evidence of something that didn’t exist — unless he stood to profit from it?

The One Exception to “Always Vote Republican”…?

Knute Buehler – Never Knute?
We’re sure the “Never Trumpers” will try to claim this is exactly the same situation they were in a few years back. (Knever Knute?) But it’s not, of course.
The “Never Trump” movement (which Knute was a proud member of, we might add) was a case of so-called “conservatives” opposing Trump for irrational reasons. The Never Trumpers opposed Trump despite Trump running on Conservative values. And conservative tax policies. And a strong Second Amendment defense. Oh, and pro life. Not to mention he opposed global warming. Was for border control and legal immigration. Plus, he pushed for conservative judges. He was — or should have been—a conservatives dream.
But they just opposed him because he was Trump.
The election in Oregon, however, is a case of a “Republican” candidate pushing Democrat ideals: a carbon tax. (Not to mention being very pro-abortion. And a host of other progressive social issues.) Trump never pushed Democrat policies. That’s why this is different.
The Problem: Knute Buehler’s Carbon Tax
A carbon tax opens the door in Oregon to a potential tax to raise up to $17 billion dollars. Knute has said he’s for a carbon tax. After claiming (conveniently) during the primary that he was against it. (See Knute Buehler’s op-ed in The Oregonian, Oct. 22, 2017.)
The Danger: Knute Buehler’s Convenient Flip on a Carbon Tax
Just weeks after he won the Republican primary for Oregon’s governor, Knute Buehler suddenly announced that he thinks a carbon tax would be a good idea. What?
A carbon tax will be a killer to businesses, do nothing to affect “climate change,” and spend billions of dollars that will end up in the hands of the Democrats. How does any “Republican” not know this?
To see what will happen to the state and to the Republican party, look no further than what happened in California after “Republican” Governor Schwarzenegger passed their carbon tax. Tens of thousands of businesses left the state. California is now nearly $100 billion in debt. And the once proud Californian Republican party is in shambles and can’t stop anything the Democrats.
Our first guest is Chuck Wiese, a meteorologist and global warming debunker. Chuck discusses why, despite being a life-long Republican, he is considering actively opposing Knute.

The flip: after he won the primary, Knute suddenly reversed his stance on a carbon tax: ““While skeptical of major new spending, Buehler says he is open to increased taxes on electronic and regular cigarettes to pay for budget items like health care, and also to a carbon tax, although not to the Democrats’ cap and trade proposal.” What? Why didn’t he mention he wanted a carbon tax during the primary? (“State Rep. Knute Buehler to challenge Gov. Kate Brown,” Register-Guard, May 16th, 2018)
Knute thinks parties need more control over who can run on their ticket. (Except Knute was lamenting the inability of the Independent Party of Oregon to let him on their ticket, not anything to do with Republicans having more control.) But we agree! Republicans definitely need to have more control over who can and can’t wear the Republican label
“Buehler, whom Robbins called “a thoughtful, bipartisan pragmatist,” would also support a revenue-neutral carbon tax to stimulate demand for green energy but not a cap-and-invest bill that reeks of “crony capitalism.” He wants to see the LNG natural-gas export terminal come online in Coos Bay and to help rural communities create value-added timber products. For him, the biggest problem in Oregon government is the inefficient muck created by one party in power for so long.”

On last week’s show we discussed Oregon’s ongoing health care debacle, including one of Oregon’s largest Coordinated Care Organizations was forced to close its doors as it faced a $100 million loss for 2018. This shouldn’t be a surprise, since the bills that created Oregon’s Health Authority and Coordinated Care Organizations were designed to create universal health care. In other words, socialized medicine.

(This should not have been hard for the Republicans who voted for these bills to figure out. Especially given that the very first paragraph said so. See the graphic at the right.)
Our predictions from years ago have sadly come true as we see the Democrat majority in Oregon’s legislature continue to push for a single payer system for health care (which will raise taxes), Cap and Trade (which will raise taxes), divorce us from Trump’s tax cuts (which will raise taxes), and increase gun control policies (which will raise taxes). It is critical that we replace Democrat Governor, Kate Brown, before she spends us into California-level oblivion. Many Oregonians are beginning to lose hope of ever shaking the Democrats from the halls of power before it’s too late.

Good Guys do Win
First up, we talk with Dr. Tim Ball, a retired professor who has been battling three libel lawsuits against him, all by the same lawyer who is representing three clients with very deep pockets. He and his wife were forced to exhaust their savings as they fought to protect their right to free speech in anti-free-speech Canada—simply because he dared to be a skeptic of Global Warming.
But Dr. Ball just got some outstanding news on one of the lawsuits against him. The Left has sought to sue him ito silence, intimidate him, and make an example of him as a warning to others who would dare to speak up and expose the bad science behind such things as the Michael Mann’s famous “hockey stick” chart, that has become the poster child of the Global Warming movement. Now, after seven years, the court dismissed the case in favor of Dr. Ball.
But there is some more good news too. Tune in to hear the story not only about his recent victory but how another development could have global implications and slay one of the biggest dragons of the Global Warming movement.
See? The good guys do win.

But before we get to the natural resources portion, our first guest is Jeff Jimerson, founder of Oregon Life United and lead petitioner to stop taxpayer funded abortions in Oregon. We talk to Jeff about whether it’s true or not that Oregon has nopro-life laws to protect the unborn. No parental notification, no limits? And then don’t miss the information on Gov. Huckabee’s visit to Oregon at their Speak Life 2018 event—and that’s not all. This group has some exciting plans coming up, so we’ll be having Jeff back on to give updates as plans come to fruition.
Progressive politicians are wrong if they think free abortions for all is a winning strategy. Especially for today’s youth. Polls show an overwhelming majority of today’s youth are pro-life. Why? Because they’re the sonogram generation. They grew up at a time mom came home from the doctor with sonogram pictures and say, “See? This is your baby brother or this is your baby sister. Here’s the head… Here’s her arm…” They know that’s a baby in there, not some “blob of tissue.”
Pebble Mine
Then we switch hats to focus on natural resources something environmentalists have fought against for years. But what these extremists don’t understand is that being an environmentalist doesn’t mean we can’t touch natural resources, it’s more about how you treat the lands and the people when you do harvest resources.
We head back to Bristol Bay, Alaska, to talk about one of the most richest mineral deposits in the world: the Pebble Mine project. A mine that has been put on hold for years as the Obama administration refused to even allow the permitting process to begin.
Long-time listeners of I Spy will remember that Pebble Partnership was forced to sue the EPA to give them same rights as any other mining company and discovered that the EPA had been conspiring with environmental groups to stop the Pebble Mine from ever submitting a permit application.
Now with the Trump administration in place the EPA has allowed the permitting process to begin, a process that will take years to finalize. And with a growing economy, America will need the gold, copper, and other minerals of Pebble Mine to build computers, cell phones, and other essentials that we use daily in our lives.
Winning against Environmentalists
But it’s more than just Pebble Mine. Tune in to hear how after years of shutting down and, dare we say, terrorizing industry, the extreme environmentalists are on the defensive. It’s about time. This Week: Two of the big stories this week have been about corruption and the immorality of the Left: Hollywood’s and Hillary’s. Both stories look into the mindset of cultural hypocrites of the worst kind. They claim to be champions of freedom and democracy but out of the eye of the public, they do whatever they can to shut up their victims with threats and intimidation.
Many of us outside of Hollywood suspected what was going on but now there’s evidence. And it’s deeper than we feared.
Hollywood especially lives a lifestyle they know is so repugnant to many that it can’t be exposed in the light of day. So in darkness they tread on their victims’ rights, collude with any enemy who will live with them in that darkness, and then act shocked if and when they’re caught. We’ve seen this week more and more victims come forward who were intimidated into silence by the powerful in Hollywood.
Hillary is the political expression of the rot in Hollywood and is the perfect example of the immorality of the Left. With a new scandal breaking every week, we’re witnessing Hillary’s behind-the-scenes manipulations. It’s an infection that’s spread through the ideology of the Left: use power to destroy your enemies. It threatens all of us when their power takes over the institutions we trust to protect us.
To really look at Hollywood we call on James Hirsen, who has been a conservative observing what goes on in Hollywood. Mr. Hirsen not only discusses the despicable culture of the Harvey Weinstein’s but really gets into a deeper look at how this dark culture has grown and spread in our society. It’s very clear why conservatives, and especially Christian conservatives, are not welcomed there, because those living in darkness don’t want any light shining on their secret lives. We see this living out in the types of movies being made, and who the Hollywood crowd hangs around with — and supports politically. That’s why we’ll also talk with James about Donna Brazile revealing of Hillary’s corruption and takeover of the DNC. Tune in to hear how damaging this culture has been and could continue to be on our way of life.
Then we talk with Dr. Tim Ball, who is an example of the ideological Left uses the law to try to destroy their enemies. He shares with us how he is fighting off not one but three lawsuits he’s been battling. He’s been sued by government-funded climatologists for such things as defamation—merely because he disagrees with their conclusions. You’ll hear how a culture, like the green movement, has tried to use the courts not to protect, but to destroy. Imagine if Hillary had continued the efforts of the Obama administration to use the legal system to silence anyone who disagrees with them.
The Left hides behind the powerful. The Goliaths. And they hide in his shadow. But the good news is that with the light shining on them, the army of darkness will turn and run. Join us this week for a view of the battlefield.
